6 years ago in December we were referred to Dr. Singhal for our (then) 5 month old son's hydrocephalus. He squeezed us in for a consultation on December 22 - after his office had closed for the holidays - and got our son in for surgery the next day! He explained all the options, both the traditional VP shunt treatment and the newer ETV procedure, the outcomes and possible complications of both and was very supportive through the whole process. We were able to go home in time for Christmas that year! When it became clear that the ETV hadn't taken he also performed the shunt installation the following February. Both times his calm demeanor and patience with our questions were very reassuring. Every check-up since then he has been very positive and encouraging, and today our son is a normal 6 year old preparing for first grade:) We have a check-up scheduled next week and our son is looking forward to seeing his doctor again. Thank you!

Dr.Singhal is a fantastic person and surgeon. Our son was diagnosed with craniosynostosis at 2-1/2 months old and we were referred to him by a great pediatrician. He explained the surgery options, the possible complications and risks, and the positive outcome. He was empathetic, professional and listened to our concerns. We were very lucky to have him and our son is doing very well. Coming thru such a difficult time was made much easier with a very capable and caring surgeon. You will be in very good hands!

Dr. Singhal saved my daughter's life when she was 9 months old. He took a lot of time to explain to us what was going on and what the expected outcomes were. Her surgeries were successful and we have a very happy little girl. There are no words to describe how grateful we are for the excellent work he does!

Our daughter was born with sagital synostosis and Dr.Singhal did her surgery at four months. Her case was severe so we are always amazed at how wonderful and normal she looks. The only way to tell is to push her hair aside to see her scar. His demeanor is very calm and we could not be happier for having such a wonderful surgeon for our daughter! We feel so incredibly fortunate that he is a surgeon at BCCH!

Dr. Singhal is one of ONLY three pediatric neurosurgeons in our province and he'd be a prize anywhere - we must do more to acknowledge these fine doctors. BCCH NEEDS a better ICU to accommodate their work - they do their finest in the OR. He saved my daughter's life (dealing with a very complicated AVM) and is a real team player with strong leadership skills. He put together a great team adding Dr. Haw and Dr. Heran. Three months of assessment, planning, procedures and a final 14 hour craniotomy - and some great follow-up. He is very good at what he does. His office assistant Helen is superb also! Do NOT ever doubt the great surgeons at BCCH - look at all the Mayo Clinics you want - but don't discount the excellence we have here.

Awesome clinical skills. Wonderful communicator. Really made us feel confident about our son's condition and the plan of treatment. He was the best doctor we saw at BC children's hospital in the 2 months our son was there.

He's great, made me feel very comfortable before i went into the operating room. His surgery was super sucessful! As a kid, surgery can be scary but he made me feel so comfortable and have almost no scar at all!! Best doctor I had at while in the hospital - besides the anathesiologists!

Dr. Singhal performed our daughter's surgery a few weeks ago. He did give us A LOT of information on our first visit which was kind of overwhelming but he is an EXCELLENT and knowledgeable doctor and a wonderful surgeon. He is the best neurosurgeon and we would highly recommend him. Our 9 month old daughter really took to him too.

Coming to terms with what your child is going through raises many questions. In our case a brain lesion was the cause of anxeity. Dr. Singhal took the time to listen, answer questions and educate us. His self confidence speaks volumes about his knowledge and skill. At the same time his gentle and friendly demeanour is re-assuring. Our child is symptom free to date after the surgery. We have not noticed any change in her compared to the pre-surgery times and this is per the high probability outcome forecasted by Dr. Singhal. We appreciate him taking the time to visit our child after the surgery during his off time. We are very thankful.
