After 30 years of my back going out for a week or more, it took a turn for the worse in June 2012. Pain would start in my hip and radiate down my right leg and foot. After shots, MRI's and CAT scans I arrived at Dr Staner's office in January 2013. He did his test and with inputs from above scheduled surgery 31 January. Surgery started around 8 that morning and by 4:30 I was dismissed from Brookwood and returned home. Three pain pills, four muscle relaxers and three weeks later I have very little pain (only after walking some distance). If you have trouble with L5/S1 and will do what the Dr. says this is your man. Thank you Dr Staner, you have made my year. Great professional staff also.

I am truly grateful that Dr. Staner was my neurosurgeon! I had spinal cord compression and it was to the point that I could barely walk; I was basically confined to a wheelchair. I visited Dr. Staner on 8/11/10. He was very knowledgeable and patiently answered all of my questions about my upcoming surgery. He has a very good staff and they scheduled my surgery for the next day! Well, two months have passed since my surgery and I can walk again! I am almost back to normal and I can’t thank Dr. Staner and his staff enough!

I had a cyst in my spinal cord and it was discovered about four years before my surgery. I had been seeing Dr. Staner for those 4 years. On the last visit before I had surgery, he noticed some paralysis in my right foot and ankle reflexes. He was quick to react and had a decent attitude after he noticed the symptoms. I has surgery to drain the cyst and insert a catheter to keep the cyst drained. When I started to complained about nerve pain in my right leg, another MRI was ordered. He said there was nothing that showed up on the MRI in his opinion and he was very dismissive and stayed on me about my weight. He sent me to pain management and will not see me to this day. After a fall on my back near the incision, I called and was dismissed again and this is over a year post surgery. I only wanted to get the attention I deserved and that he would be compensated by 2 insurances.

He researched all possibilities of healing me and concluded that surgery was not going to take the pain away. He helped me obtain pain management resources but was always there to help when I had further questions. | Respond |

After visiting many doctors and testing for two years, my husband researched the web sit www.brainspine.com and we talked to Dr. Staner and traveled to Ala for a consultation and testing. Dr Staner found what was causing my pain and after his surgery I remain pain free.
