Ratings for Dr. Taylor
Had a phone consult over a knee replacement after my former specialist said my knee was now bone on bone issue and to use a brace to delay surgery as long as possible (I delayed for 8 years). My knee became inflamed and I was unable to walk at all...saw a doctor who recommended I see a specialist (which took another 8 months). When I talked with Dr. Taylor he said my knee was not bone on bone so I asked if it was nerve damage because of the intense pain and he said no. I asked him if it was ligament/tendon damage as I had difficulty standing and my leg hurt from the thigh to the ankle...he said no. He said it was just arthritis but I had no arthritis 8 years ago when my specialist said I was bone on bone. Since I was unable to walk more than a few hundred feet and had not been able to do so for over a year I asked him if he would give me a handicap sign so I could get groceries etc. more easily, he said NO! His reason was "too many people have handicap signs and only people confined to wheelchairs or with serious mental issues should have a handicap sign". He spent quite a bit of time trying to talk me out of surgery and, frankly, I have no confidence in him and since this is B.C. I cannot get another opinion from another specialist. I am on the surgical waitlist (possible surgery in 5-7 months) but am considering surgery in another province or I will write my MLA and advocate for a different surgeon in B.C. even if I have to travel a long distance. Not impressed by B.C. health care or Dr. Taylor.
I saw Dr C.Taylor today for the pain in my knee,he sent me for X-ray in the hospital and received the result within minutes, showed me the X-ray on the computer, explained everything to me and suggested I continue with my exercises since the pain was nearly all gone.(the X-ray and MRI showed arthritis and a tear in the meniscus.) he is very kind and likeable and i did not feel rushed. Good experience, and the lady working there was very nice as well.
Told me I didn't need a cast and had it removed only to have the bone break again. It never did heal properly.
I waited 1 year for this referral and Taylor right out of the gate told me he couldnt help me. When I asked for a referral for someone who could he told me I could only get one from my family doctor. I told him, my family doctor referred me to you, and you can't help... Wasted a full year. Not impressed at all.
Doesn't bother to read chart to remeber what he recommended last visit
Too much in a hurry, appears not to read file before seeing patient again.
This doctor is great. He is always on time. He is considerate, kind, knowledgeable. You never feel rushed in his office. If he can't find whats wrong with you, he sends you somewhere else. I have nothing but good things to say about him.....
If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be alive today because of his expert diagnosis and referral to a specialist for a condition that I didn't even know I had. Dr. Taylor found it through a routine examination.
He listens to your complaints and doesn't hesitate to look further into your particular situation. He will refer out if he thinks that is best for your situation. He spends as much time that is needed with you to get the right diagnoses.
