Went to see the doctor after two weeks of a cold than turned into intense sore throat and red eyes with discharge. He called me the wrong name and told me in a rude manner that I have a simple cold. Said my red eyes were from something else and refused to check them. Only swabbed because I asked for test for strep. Checked my fike and made comments about the antidepressants I am taking. Told me I seemed fine and should stop taking them!!!! Extremely rude and judgmental. Left in tears
Had Dr. Macdonald for a number of years and left. He is arrogant and not great about helping you get things fixed. Another doctor at the practice saw the poor care I was getting and really helped me out. never would have happened with Dr. Macdonald.
Dr. Ross MacDonald cared for my father for over a decade before my father passed at 95. My siblings and I took turns accompanying my father to his appointments over the last few years. Dr. MacDonald was always thorough. We were all very appreciative of Dr. MacDonald's caring thoughtfulness and of his 'bedside manner' with my father who respected and liked Dr. MacDonald very much.
I wouldn't see him if he was the last Dr in town. Arrogant and needs to retire.
Dr. McDonald is the first family physician I've been to in years that actually took some time to read my file and talk about all of my issues. I appreciate that he doesn't automatically "reach for the prescription pad" (it's all electronic now of course :-) and cares enough to find out why I believe the things I do about my health. Be prepared to be challenged but thoroughly cared for.
Nope, nope nope! Rude, late, sick, wrong , nope, nope, nope!
I found no help after visiting this clinic because of prolonged symptoms from a particularly awful cold. I'm not the type to go to the doctor for a something like the common cold, so I was pretty sure something was wrong with me. After explaining this to Dr.Macdonald, he examined me and admitted he wouldn't know what to test me for. Then answered his cell phone and left the room. Came back in to say it was probably nothing more than maybe allergies. So after an hour of waiting I was told there was nothing wrong with me and skooted out the door. I got a second opinion at the Mt. Ida clinic and after a simple swab test, it turns out I had Strep. All in all I found my experience with Dr.Macdonald very unprofessional and unhelpful.
Dr MacDonald attended to me as a repeat customer one night in EMERG. I had been sent home and returned in extreme discomfort. He was having a very busy night and immediately ordered a scan which did diagnose a serious internal problem. I was shipped off to K'loops and am eternally grateful for his diagnostic action!
Dr. McDonald has been my doctor for many years now and I find him to be very thorough. He is patient and listens to what I am saying. He does not rush through the appointment. I find him to be very respectful.
I am very pleased and impressed with the thorough manner in which I am looked after. Under his care my health has improved. He takes a sincere interest in my well being. I trust his diagnosis and recommendations.
