I began seeing Dr. Joel in late 2001 after my surgeon told me he was 'done' with me, no matter that I was still in immense pain. On the recommendation of a fellow physical therapy patient, I interviewed Dr. Joel. He was very positive and cordial. He outlined a potential plan and assured me that I did not have to just live in total pain. He has since lived up to his word. He has perservered through the years to find pain relief for me. I have had numerous procedures, most of which have helped...some more than others and some for a long while and some for less time. That is very much the nature of chronic pain. Dr. Joel does NOT give up. Chronic pain is diffult to treat but Dr. Joel is great. He keeps himself updated on new procedures and drugs and is willing to work with you to manage your pain. I HIGHLY recommend him. PS. The best thing I did was have a neurostimulator (ANS) implant! It 'masks' the pain signals to the brain. Check it out!!!!

When I was sent to him, I felt defeated and also in pain. I got the run around from so many doctors. I HIGHLY disagree with the previous poster regarding Dr. Joel being all about money. Because I have no insurance, and am unable to afford the major risk policies available (understand...I went from being a student to self-employed...which meant NO corporate insurance to fall back on)...Dr. Joel has ALWAYS kept my office visit low as well ALWAYS being on the look out for which local pharmacies are offering the cheaper price. Dr. Joel is an INCREDIBLY busy man, working on behalf of his patients. He has ALWAYS taken the time to address my health concerns, as well as what is going on in my life. He was very helpful when I went through a very serious family loss. He is a doctor that I find to be QUITE rare, one w||Respond|
