Not just a good Dr but a great concilor , if it was not for Dr Tong I would have committed suicide long ago he was there through my 10 years of depression. Went out of his way for me.

He replaced my family Dr. I needed to go twice when my Family Dr. was away. Both times he was late 45 min. First time was to see my daughter. Didn't even look at her, is normal for her age. I needed a requisition for an TN ultrasound. He didn't know what that was and fill up the requisition wrong, when I went to get the ultrasound I had to wait until he faxed a correct requisition. Second time, same issue (as ultrasound) but with a blood test, I had the app.t at 2.45, went in 3.30, and leave the office 4.10 (until he figure out how to fill up the requisition (which was wrong), waited another 25 min at the lab for him to fix it. Unbelievable.

I visited the walk-in twice, once for my son and the other myself. Each time he quickly got to the point and resolved the problem. Especially for my ears, I had the problem for many years but my family doctor did never found out what was wrong (he did not think there was anything wrong).

I haven't been for a pap test in 6 years and i attend university full-time so i cannot make it in to see a family doctor in business hours. After being refused a pap test by Dr. Harris and one other at two different walk-in clinics i was kindly accepted by Dr. Thong. He was very gentle and understanding and provided me with all the answers to my questions. Thank you Dr. Thong for an amazing job well done. Regarding all other doctors who don't perform pap tests, i believe it is very unfair since many people don't have a family doctor in BC. What are they to do? Further, as i am a student and work on weekends my schedule never corresponds as it should. Being that i am an aspiring dental hygienist i treat all the clients with respect. I provide care for the person and not the disease. No matter who sits in my chair i treat them; i never refuse care as it is malpractice. Why can't more doctors have this practice philosophy and do the best they can for others? Thank you Dr. Thong :)

I saw Dr. Tong when I was very sick, not knowing what was wrong, and he told me that I likely had beaver fever. His assessment of me was very quick and he didn't offer me any real treatment. When my condition persisted, I went to a different doctor who determined I had ulcerative colitis and provided me with the treatment I required. I could never recommend Dr. Tong.

I'm very disappointed in the treatment I've received from him. On more than one occasion he has just tossed me some sample pills and sent me on my way. I tried to bring up another problem I was having while my appointment was for something else and he wouldn't hear it. He seemed very rushed and inattentive. This has been my family doctor my whole life, and it's caused me to lose some faith in the profession. I know there's betters out there, so I'll be making a switch.

I went with extreme shoulder pain, WCB claim because my dr. was out of town. He asked me why was I there and I explained that my Dr. was unavailable for 3 wks and he said I shouldn't be there and my claim would be denied. He grudgingly filled out a form but wouldn't fill out my employers form, and wouldn't even examine me. Didn't even touch my shoulder or ask what range of motion I had, just threw me a prescription and walked out. I was shocked that he would treat someone in this fashion.
