March 9 2023 I was diagnosed with Lupus 7 years ago and suffered significantly until I was fortunate to become Dr. Clarke’s patient. When I was first diagnosed, the joints in my hands were in unbearable pain, especially through the night, I couldn’t even slightly bend my swollen joints and fingers. Once in Dr. Clarke’s care, everything began to change and over what seemed like a short period of time, my lupus gradually began to significantly improve. I now live a 100% pain free life - my hands and joints have zero swelling and are completely pain free as is the rest of my body. The treatment Dr. Clarke prescribed for me has been absolutely life saving with no side effects and I always feel confident because of the trust I have in her as a physician. my Lupus now is totally under control with my medication and all is monitored on a regular basis. She even chases me down and finds me when I am out of the country. I could rave on about this amazing doctor, who also btw, is a caring and compassionate woman. So thank you Dr. Clarke for giving me a great quality of life with your medical expertise and dedication! Linn Farris-Moore

I think Dr Clarke is okay if your disease is severe but if not she doesn't have the time of day for you. I was diagnosed with Lupus years ago and never given any resources or information. I mention symptoms and I'm often told that's not related so abruptly I'm afraid to mention others. I have no idea what is or isn't from Lupus. Also, I just mentioned I have depression on Plaquenil and she said that's a side effect she's never heard of but all the literature I've found said to call your doctor asap if you have mood changes. Don't get me started on her assistant Liza, she's the reason for the poor staff rating. The front desk staff are nice.

The MGH Lupus Clinic, especially Dr Clarke have been dedicated and kind to me. I would recommend Dr Clarke to all Lupus patients.

Rather cold and detached. I first saw her when I was 19. Maybe she is not comfortable with young people. She hardly had anything to say to me in terms of improving my quality of life and emotional well being. Didn't give me any sense of direction or hope for the future. Didn't take any initiative to educate me about my disease. Didn't discuss treatment options with me. Insanely long wait. You end up feeling like a disease specimen instead of a human being, especially when you have to be examined by a different resident or fellow each time, before finally seeing her. You feel like you are there just to be studied off of. I'm sure she knows her stuff bookwise, but don't go to see her and the team at the Lupus/Immunology Clinic at the MGH if you want to feel like your doctor cares about you.

I would say that Dr.Clarke is one of the finest human beings that i ever met!shes a work-a -holic takes very good care of her patients, feels their pain, tries to solve all their issues including stress , she is trying so hard to figure out this horrible disease LUPUS she does research as well!she has taken care of me for 15 years, and if you are in medical need, she is fast on the response, you may have to wait your turn at the clinic, unfortunetly there are too many lupus patients, but you WILL get to see her and she will take the time and tests to try to resolve your problem, extremely thorough and thoughtful, one of her favourite expressions is All right lets see whats going on. just an amazing lady!Thank God she's my doctor

Way too long of a waiting time, but takes the time to answer all your concerns and very thorough once she has a concern. Has been controlling my lupus very well since 1998.
