18/02/14 1 1 1 2 As others posted. Arrogant doesn't even begin to describe him. I've struggled with depression for years and when I finally convinced my dad to take me to see about getting some medication to help me (confronting him alone was scary enough for me) I went in, told him WHY I was in need on it, so basically telling my entire life story, and when I finished, he said and I quote, "what do you want me to do?" In THE MOST arrogant tone of voice. He looked at me as if I was the crazy one!! All I can say is I'm 16 now and going to find my own doctor, sorry mom and dad!! I will also add that he has my little brother on insane amounts of medication for his asthma. An amount no six year old needs. Also, when we do go there it is always AT LEAST a 1-2 hour wait. Look elsewhere for a reliable doctor, people!

09/02/14 3 1 2 2 Dr. Zizzo was my mothers doctor. I am not happy with the way my mother was treated or the fact that he never listened to or took her seriously. My mother has since passed away and I can't help thinking that if he hadn't acted on what she went in for in a different manner she may still be with us now.  Respond

27/02/12 1 1 1 1 Arrogant does not begin to describe him. Swore at my wife for daring to disagree with him. Charged me $40/child for doctors notes that the camp they were going to required. Have sat in the waiting room for over an hour after my scheduled appointment time many times. Lucky to have found another family doctor in the area and am switching this week. Definately keep looking if you are considering him as your doctor. Should take a few lessons from his dad and the other doctors in his office who apprently didn't skip the classes on bed-side manner.  Respond

22/01/12 4 2 5 5 Wow. Harsh comments. I've been a patient of Dr. Dean for over 15 years. He has never been rude or abrupt with me. Very proactive in his care. Has made good choices when referring me to a specialist. New location is a big improvement. Have waited for more than an hour in the waiting room, but last two visits have been much better. When I did have to wait he acknowledged this and apologized without my mentioning it. Not having to pay to park is nice although spots are few. He's much better than other people indicate here.  Respond

03/10/11 1 1 1 1 Pompous and arrogant!! Only 3 appts with him - waited 1hr in waiting room. Was referred to a specialist I didn't ask for and when I didn't agree to this appt and cancelled it so I didn't waste a specialist's time, I was promptly dropped as a patient. Dean needs to remember he is not GOD and I as the patient have the final say in my own healthcare. This includes who I go to see for consultations. Dean's ego needs to be taken down a notch or two. Staff very sour faced. No compassion by staff or doctor. I think he was just looking for an excuse to let me go as a patient because I embarrassed him on my 2nd visit when he and his male assistant were going on and on about how a pap test was "torture" for a woman and I called him on it and said these comments were not helpful or necessary and he should just do the routine check up without all the commentary. Obviously his ego can't handle a strong female who won't be bullied or obey his every command.  See Responses

03/01/11 3 3 5 5 I like him. I've had him as my doctor during two different periods in my life. I don't go to him now because I moved out of town again and since I've moved back I have decided to go to another practice. He was great with my kids and he believed in me when others did not. I am not even in his "league" but he believed in me. He is short in manner sometimes and has hurt my feelings before but overall I like him very well and trust him as a doctor. I can understand what some of the complaints are but in my opinion he is definitely worth a try to see if he is a fit personality ways because at least if you click with him you will know you have a knowledgeable doctor that wants the best for you.  Respond

25/02/09 2 1 1 1 Ok, first of all I know that all doctors office telephones are ringing off the hook but it is IMPOSSIBLE to get through, seriously invest in an answering machine as I cannot sit all day on the phone waiting for it to become free. Second, Dr. Zizzo should really try a different profession as following in his fathers footsteps is not the path for him. He could care less about his patients health and well being, he's just in it for the money. Also, he seems to have a problem with referring patients to specialists. I struggled with severe acne for 3 years and all his treatments did not work and after several times of me asking to be referred to a derm he said it was no problem. It was so severe I was depressed and decided myself to see a dermatologist because she was friends with my mom and right away put me on accutane because t was so bad. Also, I broke my wrist and he said it was nothing and wouldn't send me for x-rays so I went to emergency and what do you know? I broke my wrist. Terribl  Respond

02/02/09 1 1 1 1 I had the unfortunate occassion of seeing this doctor at the Physician's Replacement Group (walk-in clinic). Instructed me to go to emergency only because he seemed rushed and did not take the time to listen to me. I know that I had bronchitis like the prior year. However, he seemed dissinterested in listening to my symptoms and left the room while I was trying to pick up my jaw from the floor. Sympathy to all his regular in office patients. To me, he must suffer plenty of misery in his life to think he has the right to treat patients like that. Perhaps he may need some change in his life and/or profession.  Respond

27/01/09 4 4 5 5 Dean is an amazing doctor, sure he can be quick with you on some days depending on what you are in for. He is amazing with children and that's all that matters to me. My children love going to see him and he shows interest when they talk to him. He is not in this field to be your bud, you're looking in the wrong place for a friend. He has always treated me with respect and has fully explained any diagnosis or treatment given to me or children.  Respond

29/07/08 5 2 5 5 Dr. Zizzo has been our doctor since he went into practice. My adult children still go to him, as well as my Grandchildren. We are all very happy with him. He is a very thorough doctor. When needed, he refers to a specialist. He really cares about his patients, and wants what is best for them. As a result, it upsets him when patients don't follow through on his instructions. Even though a specialist said that I did not have a problem (my leg was swollen) Dr. Zizzo referred me to a different specialist. Within 24 hours I was told that I had a tomour the size of a man's fist in my abdomen. Dr. Zizzo knew me, and knew that something was not right. He saved my life. We have had a few doctors, some good, and some not so good. Dr. Zizzo is the best one that we have ever had. At times, there is a long wait in the office, but he is worth it. We are fortunate to have him.  Respond

21/04/08 1 1 1 1 Our entire family left his practice. We went to Dr N Mercante & Dr Jackson. There're Drs accepting patients. You don't have to go to a pompous jerk like this! He NEVER should have gone into medicine just because his dad & unccle did, unsuited to being w/people. He treats my elderly dad terrible! He's a bully, arrogant, rude & on a power trip. Watch what you say, he'll kick you out of his practice if he's in a bad mood, never mind how it messes up a life when someone is already sick. I truly hope what goes around comes around. We switched before we had a problem, you can't have a doctor that you are afraid to be direct with, especially with your health. There are doctors out there, don't give up, we've found three excellent ones now and picked the two that we liked the best (female & male). Just look when you're healthy, it's too hard when you're sick.  Respond

02/12/07 4 4 4 4 Dr. Zizzo is a nice guy. Seems to be willing to explain and discuss medical issues with me when I ask good questions. If I ask vague and pointless questions, his answers are apropriately brief. I'm a young guy compared to most of his clients. I think maybe the older generations just don't "get" him. You guys are too set in your ways.  Respond

16/11/07 1 1 1 1 I have had this dr for just a few years. I am also not impressed with the fact that he has no Dr on call after hours. Also I have never had Dr. who does not come to the phone or return calls. I guess it is because he does not get paid for that. So therfore I cannot call him a caring physician. Money is all that he cares about. He will be sorry when private health care comes in as I think most of his patients will leave. Never on time, sees you for about 5 mins, would not know if he is knowlegeable as I have never seen for more that 5mins at a time.As for helpful that answer is already answered with the fact no one on call and not return calls.  Respond

I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS BUSSINESS ALL INVOLVED WAKE UP EVERY MORNING AND THINK OF HOW THEY CAN PTHE VERY PEOPLE THAT PAY THEIR WAGES, SO ACTUALLY EVERY DAY THE STAFF AND DOCTOR ARE CUTTING THEIR OWN WAGES. 23/10/07 5 3 5 5 My family has had Dean almost from the beginning of his practice. All those things that the patients that were thrown out of his office did, I have done. He has never thrown me out or threatened to. He has never been angry or impatient when I ask questions. I believe that the arrogance people are saying is just a sign that he is a very private person. I do not have problems talking to him as others have said. I have 2 boys and they both like him and that is saying a lot for my youngest son is a tough one.  Respond

08/10/07 1 1 1 1 A COMPLETE AND TOTAL MISFIT. ARROGANT, IGNORANT AND THOSE ARE HIS GOOD POINTS. MAKING AN APPOINTMENT WITH HIM IS LIKE THE SPANISH INQUISITION. HE SHOULD THINK ABOUT TAKING THE GIRL OFF PHONES WHO IS ON ON MONDAYS. WHEN MY BOYS CALL TO COME IN AND THEY HEAR HER VOICE THEY HANG UP. IF YOU CALL FOR APP YOU HAVE 2 WEEKS TO WAIT-GO TO PHYSICIANS REPLACEMENT OR WALK IN CLINIC AS HE DOES NO MORE FOR YOU THAN THEY DO, AND THEY ARE A WHOLE LOT MORE PLEASANT. NEVER HAS ANY TIME TO SPEND TO EXPLAIN THINGS TO YOU. WALK IN CLINCS DO AS I HAVE USED THEM WHEN I AM TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT 2 WEEKS TO SEE DR. THE DRS THERE TAKE TIME TO EXPLAIN THIS TO YOU. IT SHOULD BE YOUR FAMILY DR TAKING TIME TO EXPLAIN THINGS. HE NEEDS TO MAKE SOME CHANGES ON HOW TO TALK TO PATIENTS.  Respond

05/10/07 1 1 1 2 I don't like dealing with Dean at all.I truly believe he thinks he is a specialist in all fields.Since 1999 I have been asking to see a "specialist". I was told it would take 1.5 years for an appointment. Fine by me. It is now Oct. 2007. I see Dean 3 times a year (not by choice) I ave asked for the specialist every appointment since 1999. Dean dosen't think it's required as he hands me another prescription for the condition. Arrogant, Only concerned with the money he makes each day. My father had surgery. He was on numerous meds. at the time, & was advised by the surgeon to stop taking them a couple days before the operation. After the operation he went to have Dean remove the staples. We took in a list of meds. strengths & dosage. We asked Dean what ones to continue taking or stop taking. He took the list handed it back & said make another appoint. & left the room. As for his staff I don't know how often I've gone for an appoint. & been told your not scheduled for today.  Respond

19/06/07 3 4 4 I think he and his staff must be reading these comments, because it was the NICEST appt. I have had since I started with Dean. The ladies were friendly and even joked with me. Dean was understanding and diagnosised me very quickly and efficiently. I totally agreed with the rating from before, but maybe they went to a quality service training seminar because this time the service was execellent !!  Respond

11/06/07 4 5 5 We haven't been with him long, but he seems to be the best FD we've had. Our 1st FD tried too much to be your buddy. (He once slapped me in the belly while I was getting a pap during my 6wk post-natal check-up & said "It's about time you start loosing that!") Our next FD rolled her eyes whenever we asked a question. I heard one patient say, "She always seems like she can't be bothered." I can't imagine Dr. Dean doing either of these. What others are calling arrogant, I see as professionalism. However, if there comes a day when he doesn't care to answer my questions, that would be the day my high opinion of him would change. His staff also seem to be the most professional we've come across, although I would suggest that they close the door & window so we can't hear them in the waiting room.  Respond

12/05/07 1 1 2 I have know Dean for some time now as his father delivered me & has been my dr for 35 years now. Dean needs to have a sit down with Dr Phil. Seriously, who does he think he is?? He's arrogant to say the least and he has no problem yelling at you if he disagrees with what you've done or said. As previously mentioned, he's all about the get in, shut up-it's his time to talk- take it as gospel and get out! I will NEVER be seen by him if my Dr is away or too busy. I refuse to be treated like that. As for the front end staff, give it right back to them. If you stand up to them, they're less likely to be as rude. Trust me, I've done it. I feel sorry for the nurses in there, I really hope everyone appreciate the loyalty they receive from those girls as they deserve a metal for working in that kind of an environment. I'm not sure who's sending in the positive reviews, clearly they're family members or patients on mind-altering drugs...he is a self-absorbed, narrow-minded jerk.  Respond

23/04/07 2 2 5 AFTER READING ALL THE RATINGS ON DR. DEAN ZIZZO I WAS AMAZED AT HOW MANY OF THE COMMENTS WERE LIKE MY VERY OWN THOUGHTS. THE OFFICE STAFF ARE CURT AND APPEAR NOT TO KNOW HOW TO SMILE. 30/03/07 1 1 1 A couple of years ago our family doctor passed away and we had to find a new family doctor. Dr. Dean Zizzo was on that list. At our first consultation we found that Dr. Zizzo was not punctual. The 2nd appointment I had scheduled my baby's first needle. At this appointment I saw a different side of Dr. Dean Zizzo. He was extremely cold towards my baby when she started to cry after he gave the needle. I recall also having some concerns about my new born. Dr. Zizzo brushed off my concerns and rushed me out of his office. I realized after that 2nd appointment that I needed to continue looking for a new doctor. PS Also noticed that the staff seemed to be very unhappy working there.  Respond

16/03/07 1 1 3 I find his waits to be very long, office staff is very rude and the whole practice to be very abrupt and short with you. He never really cares how you are doing, doesn't take the time to be thorough in his appt's and heaven forbid you should ask any questions. I have been going to him for over 10 years now and try to avoid making any appt's with him unless absoulutely neccessary. I find myself going to the walkin's alot more because they are quicker and take a little extra care with you. Pretty sad considering the length of time I have been going there. However he seems fairly knowledgable but I couldn't be sure of that since I am very limited in the questions I am able to ask. If I could find a better doctor I would leave in a heartbeat. His whole objective seems to be money and cramming as many appt's in one day where you are only allowed to be seen for one issue anything more and you will need to book another appt. Where you will easily wait an hr or more, good time for zzzzz's  Respond

13/03/07 1 1 2 Precisely the type of doctor this board was created for. He over-booked appointments so badly, you had to wait at least a hour after your apt. time. In a room full of sick kids. He won't discuss anything other than what the apt was made for. "You'll have to make another appt. to discuss quitting smoking". When I made a suggestion as to my own treatment, he freaked out and "fired" me as a patient. He said, "Good luck finding another doctor in this town." This guy is not a bad doctor, technically, but he is the worst type of human being; greedy, and self-absorbed. You can find better doctors in this town.  Respond
