21/11/13 5 5 5 5 Dr Potts was my doctor when I had my first pregnancy. I was hoping for a female doctor and thought that I would be uncomfortable with Dr Potts but I couldn't be more wrong. He was very professional and his bedside manner is gentle and comforting. He reassured me whenever I had fears about my baby and pregnancy. If there was an angel on earth, it is Dr Potts. I was also very lucky that he was on duty at the hospital when I was in labor, I felt he took extra care of me. I wish he delivered my son as it would have made me feel more confident giving birth but he was already off duty. I really hope he can be my doctor again in my next pregnancy. The staff is excellent as well and the wait time was reasonable.

05/11/13 5 5 5 5 Dr. Potts was not my Ob-Gyn, but he delivered my baby 4 days ago. I don't remember much because already my mind has blocked out the trauma of delivering an 11 lb 5 oz baby vaginally, but I remember him being so nice and encouraging and positive. He was amazing, and my two labour buddies thought so too. I'm extremely grateful for Dr. Potts!  Respond

19/09/13 5 5 5 5 I'm currently pregnant with b/g twins. I had orginally had an OB in Guelph who was horrid and ended switching to Dr. Potts just about half way through my pregnancy. At the time, he was the only doctor that wasn't fully booked around my due date and was willing to take me on, so I came across him by fluke but I am so thankful I did. He's AMAZING!!! As are the lovely ladies at his office. He is very thorough when explaining things, and he never ever makes you feel rushed or that your only a number to him. He cares about his patients sincerely and makes sure that all of your questions and concerns are addressed before leaving. I have 2 other children that on occasion come with me to my appts and he always makes them feel included in the appt and excited about the new babies. His staff are also incredible. Always happy, helpful, and they remember all of the patients! Not just by name but they remember their "story". They're fantastic! Good doctors are hard to find but Dr. Potts is great!!

17/08/12 5 5 5 5 I'm currently pregnant with identical twins and Dr. Potts has been my OB throughout this pregnancy which is now nearing the end. He has been a wonderful doctor, he has wonderful bedside manner, his staff is friendly and the longest I've waited to get in to see him is about 45 minutes. Considering I've waited literally HOURS at my previous Gyno to me 45 mins is completely acceptable. I've had complications and Dr. Potts has been very thorough, always answering my questions and listening to my concerns. I highly recommend Dr. Potts, he's been an amazing OB.  Respond

03/06/12 5 4 5 5 Dr. Potts was my OB for both my children. I find that he has great bedside manner and answered all my questions. He delivered my first child but not my second, but with my second he came into see me and the baby the next day and asked how everything went. I did have to wait a few times (45 min. Max), but in all fairness that was at the end of the day. The staff is great and they too take time to answer your questions. I would definitely recommend him to family and friends, and if I have a third child I will be seeing him again.  Respond

10/04/12 3 1 1 1 I recently was see at our local Hospital for excessive post-menopausal bleeding. Dr. Potts was on call. I was never actually seen by Dr. Potts, but had my medical information given to him over the phone by a Nurse Practitioner. This was after waiting 11 hours in Emergency. He sent me away with a requisition for an Ultrasound and said he would be in touch to make a follow-up appointment. After looking at my results his receptionist informed me that he had booked me to come see him in September. My insistence that something was wrong and that I needed to be seen sooner didn't change this outcome. I trust my instincts and saw another OBGYN within a few days. A biopsy was done and within a week I was given an answer. I have Uterine Cancer requiring a complete Radical Hysterectomy. Thank-you Dr. Potts for not seeing me. Your lack of attention to detail may have just saved my life. If you are too busy to see a patient PLEASE pass that patient on to someone else.  See Responses

07/12/11 4 1 1 3 I had surgery my husband was told to wait in the OR waiting room and Dr potts would come out and talk to him.My husband waited 3 hours!! Then found out i had been in recovery for an hour already he didnt know my surgery was even done and no Dr.Potts to tell him how it went or what he did!! You trust a doctor with your life on an operating table he should at least feel you are important enough to explain what he did to you and tell you your restrictions after surgery, not just send you home to figure it out.Even the nurses at the hospital were not told anything. Here we are a week later several calls to his office and he still hasnt returned any calls so we still know nothing.Im here with a bladder infection had to call my family doctor for antibiotics Dr Potts didnt care enough to call...Thank god my family doctor is absolutely amazing....Guess ill have to wait another 4 weeks for my post-op.Really disrespectful in my opinion..They should put them selves in the patients shoes!  Respond

19/08/11 5 4 5 5 Dr.Potts is a wonderful Doctor, has great bedside manner, is very knowledgeable and I trust him with being my OB for my first child. He doesn't rush me when I have questions, is very gentle during examinations and is very friendly. I see a lot of complaints with wait times but in all honesty, it's not too bad. He is only on call in the hospital one week day and is in the hospital all day on Saturdays. I have never waited longer than 1 hour and that's pretty good for a specialist. I highly recommend Dr.Potts and hope to have him again for my next child.  Respond

23/06/10 2 1 1 1 I had the misfortune of experiencing the arrogance of Mr Potts first hand while admitted to the KW Hospital back in May. Mr Potts is a very egotistical and falsely self assured physician. I was admitted to the hospital displaying a myriad of gynaecological symptoms that were facilitated by a rare auto immune disorder. His approach to treating this ailment was shear Ignorance and avoidance. While acknowledging that he had no experience with my disease, he refused to let other physicians tend to my care all the while refusing to actually treat my symptoms. Instead he noted that I should have gone to a T.O Hospital where they had more experience and that I was inconveniencing him as he had just delivered "Eight Babies" thus my situation was not a priority. In the end I left the hospital after five days of him falsely sending residents to infuse steroids into my body while ignoring other physicians advise to surgically fix the problem. I have since had surgery to correct his negligence.  Respond

11/05/10 5 3 3 4 I found Dr Potts to be friendly, I really liked his receptionist, she was always kind to me. He is skilled at what he does, though sometimes his communication skills are lacking. I went through a procedure and in the end I was never told what I could and couldn't do after it. He did not notice the obvious signs of post partum that I was suffering and should never have gone through this procedure with.  Respond

15/11/09 3 3 1 1 I think it is worth noting that the Ontario Superior Court of Justice found Dr. Potts medically negligent on Aug. 27th, 2009. A quick visit to either the College of Physicians and Surgeons OR the Ontario Superior Court (MacGregor v Potts) website will confirm this. (http://www.canlii.org/en/on/onsc/doc/2009/2009canlii...). Of specific concern was the finding that he did not obtain informed consent propr to proceeding with forceps, did not inform the patient (me) of the risks of forceps to either myself or my child, and was believed to "massage" his evidence in and out of court to protect himself. My child is profoundly disabled as a direct result of his actions. I sincerely hope he has changed his practice but I do feel it is important that women be aware of this information to protect themselves and their babies.  See Responses

13/10/09 4 3 5 5 I have used a midwife for both my pregnancies, however I couldn't deliver naturally for my first and ended up having a C-Section which Dr. Pott's performed. He was such a comforting person, and seemed to truly care about me and my baby even though he'd never met me before. He also took care of me after my delivery due to high blood pressure and he was fantastic - as was his staff. This second time around, he has taken me on again and worked with my mid-wife to ensure all is moving smoothly. Very kind and thorough doctor and I would recommend him to anyone with their heart set on an OBGYN  Respond

10/02/09 5 1 5 5 Peter is worth the wait - even when I had to get dressed and come back another day! Yes, you will wait... and you will be SOOOOO glad you did. Peter is fantastic; friendly, familiar, informative and unendingly dedicated NOT ONLY to his patients but to helping his colleagues. I say this because I know that he left he has had to leave mid-visit to rescue a mother in labour. There is no better doctor out there.  Respond

07/10/08 1 5 1 1 Unknowledgeable because I had a C-section and he left a piece of placenta inside, which caused a lot of bleeding. Unhelpful because he didn't want to do anything to fix the above. Poor service because the receptionist was very unfriendly on phone when I tried to get an appointment.  Respond

28/11/07 5 3 5 5 since 1997 till recenatly I had Dr.Potts for 4 out five of my pregnancies and he also tied my tubes when I said enough is enough . The parking and long waits might suck sometimes but u have to understand that his location and busy scheduals are only because he is so...... good. The staff is wonderful, punctuality is great (when no emergancys or labours pop up). Dr. Potts and the staff are very carring and helpful.I couldn't of asked for a better Dr. HATS OFF TO DR. 09/11/07 4 4 5 5 Dr. Potts was my saving grace. He diagnosed me with Cervical cancer but he has been the only doctor to ever act professionally, politely, and eased my worries. I am usually a very high strung person but he was able to convey to me that there was nothing to worry about as we caught this in the very early stages. He put my mind at ease. He should be used as an example of proper bedside manner, and professionalism. Yes he has long wait times but with limited OB's in the tri-city area this is expected. The front desk and nurses were also very polite and professional, but I do have to agree it is very hard to phone in to Dr. Potts Office as it is always busy. Obviously if the patient is not being polite then the secretary can only do so much and are human as well. No I am not the secretary nor do I know he outside of his office. I am just giving my personal opinion based on my own experiences.  Respond

02/06/07 2 5 5 Although I had long waits in his waiting room, it was worth it in the end, Dr. Potts is a very kind, gentle man. He is very highly spoken about at KW from the nurses and was very good to me through my pregnancy. He took time to come and see me in the hospital and didn't make it seem like just a "round" he actually spent time asking me how me and my son were and made sure I was ok. He is very knowledgeable and I have since recommended him to many friends and my sister who was looking for a OB. Thank you Dr. Potts!!!  Respond

25/04/07 1 1 1 I use to be a patient of the man who use to own Dr.Pott's clinic. That man was amazing! I can't say the same about Potts, he was and is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, and I would NEVER recommend him for someone who needs serious help with cancer. I was diagnosed as Benign and had to go for laser treatment, it was 99% that it wouldn't come back, he however forgot to laser the right side of my uterus and it resulted in illness and more laser. 4 years later I had to have another referral to see him, and the appointment had been booked 6 months in advance. When I arrived his secretary advised I owed money for a missed appt some 4 years earlier. I disagreed as I had never missed one, and Pott's refused to see me that day or EVER until the money was paid in full, something they could have told me before I showed up. As I didn't bring money with me, and who does to those appt? I had to leave so much for the oath they swear to uphold in regards to saving lives above money! He will save u when u pay!  Respond

24/04/07 5 5 5 I have been a patient of Dr. Potts for less than a year. He is the second Dr. I have seen for infertility issues. Due to his thoroughness, he discovered a very large fibroid tumor - which would have caused serious pain during pregnancy. Dr. Potts completed my surgery this past week and it went very well. I always leave his office feeling relaxed and in good hands. The office staff work hard to keep appointments on time. I think he is an excellent doctor.  Respond

12/04/07 4 5 5 Dr. Potts is a great Doctor. When I first met him, I was pregnant with my first child. I'd been under the care of a midwife and developed fibroids. I had no knowledge about fibroids and was concerned about cancer, just having watched my father die of cancer several weeks before. Dr. Potts, took the time to explaine about fibroids, went over my tests very carfully and decided I could continue with my midwife. He is one of the few OBGYN's that will work well with midwifes. After my daughter was born, Dr Potts examined me again and said something that has lasted with me for a long time. He said, "Don't live with pain. Women tend to live with a lot of pain that is not necessary". Well he was right in my case. 4 years later, I was scheduled for a hystorectomy all because of pain. Who was my Dr.? Dr. Potts. I trust him completely. My recovery has been very quick. I believe that is because of the skill of the Dr. Thank you Dr. Potts.  Respond

13/03/07 3 2 2 I'm going to give Dr. Potts the benefit of the doubt and assume that during the 15 years since I last saw him, he's improved some. Or perhaps the issue is that I saw him on gynecological matters only. Health and pregnancy prevention as opposed to obstetrics. Whenever I'd required a biopsy, it was a procedure that was arranged and booked in advance when pap tests had confirmed dysplasia. On one of my first visits with Dr. Potts he said that he "saw" dysplasia during the internal exam I was there for and without asking permission, biopsied me right there on the table. It was presumptuous and unprofessional and in the end, when the tests were completed, completely unecessary. There had been no dysplasia and no need for a biopsy. Unscheduled or otherwise. He also insisted on a referral from my family doctor each time I had to see him when. (I was a patient of the doctor he took over the practice from. Whom I'd only needed to be referred to once.)  Respond

22/01/07 4 5 5 When given the choice of who I wanted for my OB I decided on Dr.Potts because everyone who has ever had him only had good things to say about him. I did not regret my choice. Due to complications with my pregnancy I had to see him quite frequently for a couple of months leading up to the birth. From the first day I met him, under somewhat stressful circumstances I felt at ease with him. Any course of action that we took I never questioned as I had complete trust and faith in his knowledge and his genuine concern for my pregancy. To all future Moms in Kitchener-Waterloo do not hesitate to pick Dr.Potts as your OB.  Respond
