Ratings for Dr. James F. White
3.1
Dr James White is a wonderful doctor that I miss since he moved from Vancouver. I'm 56 and his knowledge, compassion and personality have never been matched! Ian Hansen
My experience with Dr. Jim White has been a seriously mixed bag with little results. After the usual 1 to 2 wait in his doctors office... you are then moved to wait in his examination room. Where every time without fail, I found he leaves the previous patient's info open on his computer for the next patient to read at will in his office, massive privacy breach in my opinion. Dr. White, Jim as others call him; has an amazing bedside manner... He will comfort you and really connects with you as a person. However, with his work load being excessive, I found he had very little time to consider my health problems... He was very open to suggestions in looking for answers, but wouldn't commit to finding an answer himself... He often asked me questions like, "what do you want me to do about it?" I don't know that's why i came to a doctor... aren't doctors supposed to be the ones who are the educated ones in the room? If you have serious health care issues, find another doctor... Dr. James White really puts the emphasis on "practice" in his profession. They only outcome after five years of his care... He got me hooked on opiates instead of actually diagnosing me with anything.... now i am anemic with a multitude of health issues including dealing with the aftermath of an opiate addiction... He did however, look after my family with some adequate results. His secretary, Jolene could also be incredibly difficult to work with for appointments. In closing, I am glad to see and hear that he is retiring, but now he can find the focus in life he needs.
Dr. White has been my doctor for approx. 2 years, I find him to he very knowledgeable, amazing way of understanding and listening to my problem or problem at the time, always very helpfull in what I need, I find him to be the best Dr. I have ever dealt with, I have 100% confidence in anything he suggests for my health and well being, I feel very blessed to have him as my Doctor. He has a great sense of humour, which helps with my depression and he has never been negligent in any way.
I have never had a problem with Dr. White. As a professional ER Nurse, I would know immediately if he was negligent in any way, which he is not. He has a great sense of humour which does help greatly in dealing with the elderly population of Salt Spring Island.
Dr. White is a great doctor on our island and I hope that he recovers from his ankle surgery swiftly as I hope he will send me for my ankle crap and having my plates removed. I really love all that he has help me with and takes the time to consider my concerns in dealing with me. Doctor White is I hope the last in a series of Doctors that we will have/one buried/one moved on/and him which I find is the best All Good here!
Upon my first visit to Dr. White, I thought I had found a very professional, knowledgeable and caring doctor. When I return for a second visit, it was like the first doctor had disappeared. He was rude, short, uncaring and did not inform me of the risks of one of his test he was insisting that I have. Only when I mentioned it, did he say anything. All other visits have been unpredictable. Paper work left out from other patient is common to see in the examination room. This truly was a Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde. If you experience a doctor with very inconsistent personalities, you are not alone. My hope is none of family members ever had anything seriously wrong with them. In the meantime we will be seeking another doctor.
he has saved my life given myself another chance if you are not involve in your health as I am then your life has no meaning perhaps it time to tune in to this gift you have been given so the rest of us can properly help you with your body get with it god wants you to show some understanding of whats been given then maybe they can help you heal. He appears incompetent for the following reasons: He could not properly access information regarding drug doses and interactions; he does not use sterile procedures; (no gloves, no visable hand washing) he does not protect your privacy (left my mother and I in an examination room for 15 minutes with other people's files spread about); he does not perform the appropriate tests as needed (Mom had complications following surgery: he didn't perform any assessments nor order blood tests); he does not manage pain properly (he removed over 50 embedded staples from a surgical site with no anesthetic, causing excruciating pain). I do not recommend this doctor!
