I have been going to Dr. Linscott for over 20 years and have never been upset with him until recently. I had an appointment with him in December, 2014. I needed a physical before surgery I was supposed to have. I underwent an EKG, x-rays, and needed to go back for labs since it was too late in the day on that particular day. I saw him maybe about 3 minutes out of 20-30 minutes. He had a stand-in nurse on that day. My levothyroxin was changed. I had the prescription filled, even though I had just had it filled for another 90 days. Needless to say, I am now unemployed and cannot make all the co-payments on a regular basis right now. I received a letter in the mail ab out 2 weeks ago which stated my labs all came back normal (I had not gone in yet for the labs). I sent him a message regarding this and how I was supposed to take the new dosage of meds. (I am already on 100 mgs and 88 mgs of levothyroxin) and received an answer from someone named Frances which stated that the letter I received was regarding my x-ray, WHICH WAS NOT NORMAL!!! and that the doctor made a mistake on my medication also and to keep taking the older dosages. I was upset and sent another message back and that I wanted a reply from him and not his nurse. I did get another reply but I could tell it was from the nurse again and nothing was mentioned about the thyroid, just that the x-ray showed a mild cardiomegaly which was normal!!! NORMAL??? On 1/13/2015, I went in for my labs, the results came back two days later (I only found this out because I was able to access my records myself). No call from the doctor nor a message. stating that I needed to come back to see him. He knew I had concerns. Furthermore, I have kidney disease and the nurse did call regarding a diagnosis of the starting of osteoporosis from a bone density test I also had done within the last month and told me to take 2000 mgs of calcium (still no mention of the thyroid nor the concerns about my heart). I told her I was told to only take 600 because of my kidneys and she stated to keep doing that then. I don't know if this is all coming from the doctor or if the nurse is at fault and giving out erroneous information. Lastly, I am going through a company called Right Source for some of my medications now since I will not have to make a co-payment on some of the meds. I have been out of one of them for over three weeks and you would think he would get back to this company and okay the refill. As of this date, he has not done this yet. I have always liked Dr. Linscott and now I am concerned that I may have to look for another doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. John Linscott Jr. since 1989, he has always been a good listener and if asked for more information, you get an answer. His nurse, MARY is very impatient at times and not too courteous. Melanie on the other hand is awesome and always happy. Clinic staff is polite and thorough, some messages never get through, but that's the Lakeshore Clinic, not the Dr. I have never had a more pleasant Dr. and he has a good wicked sense of humor, but then so do I. Have had very few if any problems. Other Drs. I have had have all been part of a clinic and numbers were more important than the patient. Let's face it, it's all about MONEY and health at any clinic. 1 dr. for every 200 patients in the USA, the demand is high.

Doctor Linscott is very rude and always seems distracted. No eye contact, always seems interested in the female drug reps in the office. Not interested in patients at all, very interested in pushing pills that the drugs reps are sampling. Rude and not the same as he was. I will never go back! Very bad experience!!

What a great doctor!!! I would highly recommend! Great sense of humor, does listen and has always been there to answer my questions - even while "off duty", where he's called me at home. Very down to earth. Knows his patients well, as does Mel, his nurse - who is also SUPER! SUPER! Also, caught my fiancee's cancer in a very early stage because he did listen to what my fiancee was saying and found a lump in his neck, which ended up being cancerous. All is good now and I truly believe it's because he found the lump at such an early stage! Thank you Dr. Linscott!

When I started seeing Dr. Linscott about 15 years ago, he was like a dream come true - everything you could ask for in a family doctor. Then, about 5-6 years ago, something changed. Suddenly, he couldn't get his patients out of his office fast enough, delegating some of his duties to his nurse. Since being diagnosed with emphysema about 8 years ago, he has never once asked me about it, ordered follow-up tests, nor talked to me about quitting smoking. Once I took a handwritten list of 7 questions to an office visit. He grabbed it from my hand saying he could go over it faster than I could. He made a brief comment about a few of the items, skipped the rest, and handed it back to me. He then walked out and said his nurse would be right in to schedule a blood test - I still don't know why. Okay, sorry for the rambling, but I hope word gets out that Dr. Linscott is no longer the doctor he once was and his ratings at sites similar to this don't have very good scores for him, either.

Dr. Linscott is caring and very helpful. He agreed to take on my husband when he had a medical emergency. I have never, in my 15 years as his patient, known him to be arrogant or unprofessional as others here have written. Perhaps they need to get a sense of humor.

Dr. Linscott is a good guy and a decent doctor. I can understand that not everyone may appreciate his sense of humor and arrogance. But for me, he's a good doctor. He is very funny and nice. I do have to be firm with him when I want clear results. I am thinking about switching to a new doctor though.

Very caring. Took the time to talk to me about my son who had died. Went out of his way. My husband was the pt that day, not me. Knows his patients well.

This doctor is rude, unprofessional - does not take any time with you and is very cocky. He has made so many ememies with is unprofessionalism. FYI, he takes pictures of every patient that walks though that clinic. His LPN Mary is the most rude and nasty. The staff in front are obviously getting paid by the hour. They take their good sweet time getting to you.
