Just left the worst appointment of my 41 years. He was dismissive, said "oh that doesn't sound normal" and was in and out of the room in LITERALLY 25 seconds (boob grab, vag swab, mic drop, out) His NP had a foul attitude, and neither of them seemed willing to listen. The nurse that weighed me at the beginning of my hour-long, 25 second appointment was super sweet. Wish I knew her name, but apparently no one there introduces themselves (including the doctor himself). Do yourself a favor and don't go to see this man who is apparently more worried about money than patients (how many gyns do you know with billboards all over the place? ). Awful, awful experience.
To be 100 percent fair on this review I will start by saying the staff is great, Ecspecially the ladies who do the bloodwork but I think they come from another company. Dr. Vera delivered my daughter in 2014. Throughout the entire pregnancy he was always rushed and everything I had a concern about was always normal. I continued to use him until my delivery. I dilated to a 10 at 8 a.m. when he checked. He answered the phone and left. At 8 p.m. I could not wait any longer and told them she was coming out. They called the doctor. Eventually, my contractions began to push her out. The nursession held her in. Finally, I was informed if I had one more contraction they would deliver her since I had already told them many times that I wish they would. It was my third child I was not impressed with the doctor to begin with so I did not mind if they allowed her to come out since she was trying to already. After a few more minutes, they said here she comes and let go. Amazingly the doctor walked in and caught her. Now, we are expecting again. I found out that I was pregnant when I was having upper abdominal pain. From the beginning he told me about ectopic pregnancy and I excepted what could be being that I did conceive while nursing and taking the birth control that he prescribed. After a few weeks my hcg levels doubled normally and no pain anywhere. I bled one day but mostly brown and after a few hours I never saw the blood again. A few more weeks passed and I had my first ultrasound. When they did not see the baby he immediately told me he was scheduling a d&c because it was a blighted ovum and my levels were dropping. Funny thing is I bled for 4 months with my son and they did not see him on the first ultrasound but he is a big and happy and healthy 2 year old because the doctor I had with him was a high risk doctor and knew what to look for. Needless to say I told him I could not do the d&c on that day being I had decided in my mind I was not going to. He told me I had to have it done within the week or I would bleed and need emergency surgery. He scheduled me for one anyway. I went the next day and got all of my records transferred to another doctor. I have no problem excepting things like that when they happen. I understand things like that are beyond our control. But God is the only one who can tell us when our baby is not there anymore. Not a doctor who is telling me I have to get this done when he did 1 ultrasound and no bloodwork to see if my levels were dropping. Last time they checked they were doubling just fine. I haven't been to a new appointment yet but I will be soon. And I encourage everyone to know their body amd stand firm on their decisions. I am not saying don't use this doctor because some people have different experiences. But I am saying be careful and know all of your options before you let him talk you in to doing something like washing your child from to ur cervix without any proof there is a problem.
I was recommended to him through a pregnancy resource center. Do not use him if your pregnant and looking for good prenatal care. My first visit at 8 1/2 he gave me no information about me or my baby, just did a pelvic exam. Then several days later I was having extreme back pain and called his office several times and could never get through to him or a nurse! I ended up having to go to the ER and have my gallbladder removed. He then waited until I was 11 weeks to even schedule my first prenatal and then needed a reschedule the day before. DO NOT USE HIM. The dr. I am seeing now couldn't even understand why he wasn't scheduling me got regular visits during my first trimester. He clearly has too many patients and can't offer quality care to new moms who know very little about their first pregnancy.
Dr. Vera was the worst doctor I could have ever possibly seen. He never listened to anything. I had to repeat personal information at 3 of my first appointments before it finally clicked. He was not informative about anything he did. He then ended up dismissing me from his care at 18 weeks pregnant because I refused to have. Poor rawn for genetics testing. Which I have had done before. Also said I refuse to get a shot every week because I asked for the pill form. He is terrible. His nurses are just as bad. And rude. His timely manner is also slow. You can expect to be there at least an hour and a half when you go.
Worst doctor I have ever been to he did a biopsy with No pain meds no nothing I was screaming crying he had no concerns didn't ask me any questions I wouldn't take my dog to him I have a tumor the size of a turkey and all he said was its big sorry no good money grabber not a doctor
My normal Dr. didn't deliver me. I wanted natural childbirth and when I arrived at the hospital I was at 9cm. Dr. Vera told us he did not have time for my birth plan. And when I pushed he stood two feet away with his arms crossed.
this doctor was not friendly, never talked to me and left guaze inside of me for weeks after deliveriing my baby, wich caused problems for me later..Please if you are reading this, do not go to this Doctor. He tried to deny the fact that he left the guaze inside of me. If I wasnt so young and had know better, I would have sued him.
I had a horrible experience with this dr. I had my baby at tanner. Dr. Vera came in two minuets before I delivered and was yelling and talking down to the nurses who had been absolutely wonderful during my whole long labor. My epidural had failed and I tore while delivering pretty badly, he never numbed the area and didn't speak to me at all. I was telling him how much it hurt and he didn't even pay attention to me while i spoke. Upon my 6 week check up he did not even check my stitches and again spoke to me only briefly. During my pregnancy it was the same attitude. I would not reccommend this doctor to any woman.
Dr. Vera is an amazing doctor. I had a great experience with him. He took the time to really listen to my problems and answer my questions. I felt like he wasn't in a hurry to get out at all, but really valued me as a person. I didn't have a long waiting time and I felt like the nurses were very personal and friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Vera, I honestly don't know why there are all these bad comments because I had the exact opposite experience. If you are looking for a good OBGYN, I would recommend him!
The office always tries to charge me for things I already paid for. This happens every time I go in. The dr. never really answered my questions.
