Ratings for Dr. A. J. DeRocquigny
3.7
This doctor needs to retire before he seriously harms or kills someone. He talks to his patients about the hospital wanting him to leave, and his age is affecting his decision making and judgement. That fact he is telling patients the hospital wants him to retire is unprofessional and alarming.
He was the only one who knew what to do to fix my daughter, we are so grateful.
One of the best doctors I've had while admitted to psych at Victoria. He is a bit old school and believed that going 50mg over the recommended top dose was ok and sure enough thats all I needed to make me feel like a human again. I've been admitted 5 or 6 times now and he has been one of the best. Doesn't rush and listens to what you have to say, like any doctor I've had in any psych ward you never know when they're going to call for you but if you're not able to come at the time he'll always make sure to round again for you!
Saw him while in the psychward, was really understanding of where I came from. Had diagnosed me with borderline and got me on meds after refusal for so long. Kinda old timey with outdated information and doesn't really understand some of my issues as someone young, but still regardless, works for me.
Harms caused by this doctor - defamed in a medical record, no corrections made (PHIA) catastrophic reaction to neuro toxin or combination.
seen him for several years now. he is very accepting of lifestyles. knows i use drugs along with medications. he understands I need them to cope. however i noticed his knowledge is outdated and his age shows. spends a lot of time reviewing my charts to refresh his memory, and looking up medications in his books. he's my first psychiatrist and even tho we have varying differences he always tried to help me and never pushed me to take or do anything I didn't want to. seems like a genuine caring doctor. I appreciate his help.
Dr. De Rocquigny finally had me on the proper meds during my last pregnancy. He was so attentive and really took time to listen to me not just hearing me. My last phsyciatrist has me on lithium which was prescribed to me for bi-polar. Turned out I didn’t have bi-polar. Just love this doctor.
He is very understanding and helpful. I have received a lot of support from him under his care for the past 10 years when I was at the lowest of myself. It gets better and I am achieving more in life because I have the support I need. I always felt like I could ask any questions I needed to.
Great doctor to work with. Very kind and helpful, caring and supportive.
Excellent, caring physician. Very fortunate to have met him. His ongoing care and treatment had been crucial.
