Hi, it’s Kishore Visvanathan here again. If you’re using RateMD to comment on my practice, that’s great! Let me know what I can do better. Please tell me the problem you had and make your ideas for fixing it as specific as you can. You can also comment on staff, waiting times, office facilities, etc. Of course, I like to read positive comments, but when you point out problem areas, I can try to improve. Even if you were satisfied with my service, you may still have suggestions about what could be better. If you found something particularly helpful, mention it specifically - other doctors may read your comment and want to try it in their practice. I’m interested to find out whether these online rating sites can be useful to improve medical practice, rather than just be used as a place to vent frustration. If you leave a comment on RateMD, can you please mention that you read this posting? Oh, about the 5+5+5 rating I gave myself – they wouldn’t let me leave the ratings blank, so… : )

What a wonderful doctor, I was so fortunate to have been referred to him. I was very nervous and he quickly put me at ease. He explained everything in a very straight forward manner, so I knew what to expect during the procedure. A very very nice man, you couldn't ask for anything more. If he happens to read this, thank you so much, you really made my day!

Dr. Visvanathan is a wonderful Doctor.As a surgeon, his expertise and knowledge is top quality.He explains everything in a polite and easily understood manner.He promptly got back to me with any questions I left for him.He made me feel like I was his only patient and that I was REALLY important---not just a number. He quickly arranged for any tests and procedures I needed leading up to my nephrectomy surgery. On his posting that he wrote on "RATE MD",he asks for suggestions to improve his practice--From my experience there's nothing I would change. He is reliable,knowledgeable,compassionate,wonderful bedside manner,down to earth, and very professionable. His staff was always polite and promptly looked after my needs.I am so thankful I was referred to Dr. Visvanathan

Dr Visvanathan irradicated a kidney stone problem for me and I found him to be extremely caring and professional. There is no way you will leave his office without a satisfactory explanation. You can trust in his competent nature. He is a very friendly person. I am up for a prostate biopsy with him. Not looking forward to this but am thankful he is looking after it !

A very caring and compassionate Dr. He took time to find out my concerns and explained everything in language I could understand. After an unsatisfactory trip to Regina the extra miles to Saskatoon were well worth it and I would recommend him to anyone.

We haven't met Dr. Visvanathan personally but spoke with him on the phone when we had concerns with my mom. He is really polite, and genuinely cared and wanted to make sure my mom was alright. Even though we didn't see him face-to-face, I can tell he's an amazing doctor and I would highly recommend Dr. Visvanathan to anyone. Thank you for your help, Dr. Visvanathan!

I met Dr. Visvanathan after the Urologist I saw in Regina told me I would have to self-cath after his 3 second cystoscopy. I was referred to Dr. Visvanathan by a Docter from the Pasqua emergency where I was being treated for a bladder infection. I went to Dr. Visvanathan for a cystoscopy, before the cystoscopy he talked to me finding out what was happening, for how long, etc. The cystoscopy itself lasted about 5 mins. (unlike the one in Regina), after the cystoscopy he talked to me again explaining what he found (a large diverticulum on the bladder) how to repair it, he also made arrangements for a CT Scan as well as prescribing a daily antibiotic. The CT Scan results confirmed the diverticulum, I was scheduled for surgery. Dr. Vis performed the Surgery in Oct. 2007, everything went great, I am back to my old self, no self-cath, no antibiotics and no infections. I was very fortunate to be referred to Dr. Visvanathan, he is a very skilled Surgeon and a GENTLEMAN. Thanks, Dr. Vis.

Dr. Visvanathan and his colleages were very understanding and very honest with us when we were in need of medical advice and they were very thorough. I trusted my life in Dr. Visvanathan's hands and would do so again if I had to. This is one very understanding and patient doctor who will talk to you and tell you how it is and answer any questions you may have. He is caring and honest. Dr. Visvanathan and team repaired me from another Dr.s screw up and I was told exactly what we were up against and choices that we had to make before surgery. This is a rare commodity to have these things mentioned before hand and decisions were made ahead of time because he cares enough to make you aware. I would not be here if not for this man, so trust me when I say he is not a gamble but a blessing sent down from God. May we always have Dr. Visvanathan to go to for help if needed.

I found Dr. Visvanathan to be very friendly & willing to take the time to answer questions. I was apprehensive going in for a cystoscopy. He and his staff explained what they were going to do as well as being encourageing as the short procedure went along. I would say one of the best and most painless procedures I have had done. Thank you! As far as improvement areas. Just keep up the excellent work and attitude.

Dr. Visvanathan is a gentleman and a scholar. A very nice person, explains things so well - the office staff is friendly and my office visits have been very pleasant!! Kudos to Dr. V for taking the time to post his comments on this website. It shows he is clearly interested in being a great professional!

I rated this as the best doctor because he was so understanding and wanted to really help and was totally honest with me. I never met another doctor like this one. I just wish all doctors were like him.

Dr. Visvanathan saw my daughter for a kidney stone. He ran all the tests that ought to be done, set up treatment promptly, explained her options carefully, and was very knowledgeable and kind. I find it very refreshing when a doctor posts to this forum and actually wants to know how he can better his practice!! That, in itself, is admirable! From our experience with him so far, not much, if any, improvement is needed. :-)

This doctor is very caring and does not rush you like other ones we have seen. He explains everything very well and makes sure you leave his office fully understanding your problem. We were very lucky to be referred to this wonderful doctor.

He was very professional and caring. My dad was in for surgery in his 60's for his first ever stay in the hospital. He was so kind and took such good care of dad. He personally came to see dad and explained to him what to expect before and after surgery. Though this was several years ago - dad mentioned Dr. Visvanthan just yesterday and how he appreciated his care.

A radiologist found a large tumor on my kidney when I was relatively young, 26. Thank goodness I was sent to Dr Visvanathan. He was so helpful and knowledgeable and got the necessary procedures rolling very quickly. He explained the type of tumor and my options very clearly and gave me his opinion, but allowed me to make a decision that I was comfortable with.

Dr. Visvanathan diagnosed and treated my prostate problem effectively. Discussed alternatives and allowed me to participate in decisions re my treatment. Excellent care and consideration before, during and following TURP procedure. I recomment him highly.

Dr. Visvanathan is an excellent and knowledgeable physician. He has wonderful rapport with his patients and will make sure all their questions are answered prior to leaving his clinic.
