Great Man. Great Surgeon. Great to talk to. Listens to my concerns. Did a great job removing my parotid tumor

I am sure Dr. Deschler prioritizes cases depending on patient. I came in for something that I have had no luck (10 months of figuring this out) in another state and was already in distress from not getting answers. Unfortunately, I am not sure Dr. Deschler even believed me and my current symptoms thus making me question everything I've been experiencing the past 10 months since I first discovered my issue. Seriously I felt I was going crazy everytime I went to see him and funny enough I am a pretty passive person...as told by my University students I teach. . Shortly after my biopsy came back as non diagnostic, he referred me to another doctor who wouldn't be able to see me for another month. I mean, while I appreciate his methodical care, he clearly didn't recognize or attend to the distress I was having. Furthermore and this is the most unfortunate thing about Dr. Deschler's methodical care was that I had another biopsy done by nearby teaching hospital (Boston Med Center) that came back to reveal carcinoma. I believe others on here who say he is a caring and is a superb doctor. Reading his peer reviewed articles shows that he is top of the game in his job. I'm sure those that had a good experience with him had a clear cut case at revealing a diagnosis. Due to my rare case and the unfortunate late timing of seeing Dr. Deschler (with being a distressed patient already), I have to say I am one of those outliers and give him a poor review. Thankfully, I was diagnosed and started treatment shortly after. My late diagnosis already doesn't have a very good prognosis, still I appreciate the Dr. Deschler for trying.

Dr Deschler hands down is THE BEST doctor. Back in 2001 he removed a vagal schwannoma tumor. His skill and knowledge as a surgeon is the best -- and I know this after going for multiple opinions prior to my surgery to all the top hospitals -- Yale, Cornell-Weill, John Hopkins. He kept close watch over me during my stay in the hospital and returned my calls very promptly. Always was and still is THE most compassionate doctor. One who listens and treats you like a member of his family. I cannot say enough good things about him. He is a straight shooter on the diagnosis and prognosis and he is the patient's best advocate. I am forever blessed to have found this doctor. The MEEI staff has been just as supportive.

I couldn't be more appreciative of both Dr. D's skills and compassion. In some of the most terrifying days of my life, I felt reassured that I was in his care. I could not recommend him more highly.

When you hear the word CANCER your natural reaction is devistation. Dr Deschler puts you at ease and makes the process of removing the tumor less stressful. From the first meeting with my family to the follow up appointments he is a pleasure to recieve my care from. At every appointment he has a "shadow", a student, following him around. I feel that the future of care in this field is in good hands if they are learning fron Dr. D and not only in the area of knowlegde but in his communication skills as well.

Dr 'D" is the BEST !! From the first visit when he told me I had mouth cancer thru the next week when I had surgery , He and his staff were kind and professional. I am now cancer free and have a second chance at a healthy life!!! THANK YOU Dr "D" and staff I was blessed to have you all in my life!!

Dr. Deschler was incredibly professional and went out of his way to allay my fears. He explained the procedure in detail without treating me like an idiot and included my husband in the conversation. He followed up with me several times after the surgery. His bedside manner was professional and warm. He instilled this patient with confidence. I highly recommend Dr. Deschler
