Four months after extreme tongue surgery and I'm eating everything in sight - gaining back the weight I lost. Am I out of the woods? No. I've learned that cancer makes its own rules. But I'm alive. I'd doubted that even such a brilliant surgeon as Dr. Goguen could let me eat and speak normally - with no disfigurement. What were the chances? But Dr. Goguen had already bought me eight years with her expertise and was confident she do it again. And, here I am. I can eat normally! And articulate words! And I look like myself. Life is good. Dr. Goguen is a genius! And, a very patient doctor.

Kind and competent. Dr. Goguen is an excellent surgeon and practitioner. She removed a cyst from my neck surrounded by key nerves. I have had no ill effects post- surgery. I recommend her without reservations.

Dr. Goguen and her nurse practitioner, Ronnie, are amazing. They are thorough, knowledgeable, and very patient. I had a left and right thyroid bed revision, as well as a right neck dissection. Dr. Goguen explained everything, checked on me each day while in the hospital, and made sure I was doing well. She is extremely professional, but easy to talk to. I would highly recommend her to friends and family.

Dr. Laura A Goguen has superior competencies in all areas: examination; communication; diagnosis, and surgical outcome. I had a growth in the inside of my nose that required surgery. She did a through examination, answered all of my questions in a way that I could understand, was personable AND professional simultaneously. The surgical outcome was excellent. I was sent to Dana Faber to be evaluated for oral cancer by my dentists. I met with Dr. Goguen. A biopsy reveal I indeed had cancer. I'm not well versed in the medical jargon surrounding my diagnosis. Suffice it to say I needed a lesion and surrounding area on my tongue removed and a couple of lymph nodes removed, then radiation and chemo. I was scared and imagined the worst. Dr. Goguen was able to ease those fears with her confidence, knowledge, command of the situation, and her ability to map out for me exactly what to expect and when. Then there is her skill as a surgeon. Throughout the course of the treatment if I had a problem, and it was mentioned - it seemed to disappear with no indication of how. I think I know how/who. She does get things done. I've been cancer free now coming up on two years(knock on wood). Things have turned out better than I could have ever imagined thanks to Dr. Goguen and the staff at Dana Farber/BWH. I consider myself lucky to have found her.
