2 experiences, both bad. Went in with my husband, the doctor spent an hour talking about things related to his life, studies, travel-studies, a electrical appliance that he just ordered and what he wished he would have, famous scientists that worked on genetic. That he does the clinic to make more money, that he quit genetic work as it's irrelevant due to exterior factors, etc... We get that he is an extravert, we let him talk but we had to get him back on track with the subject respectfully few times. He was telling us that the specialized genetic team from McGill sent us there for no reason. It felt like if we were on a confusing and bad Ted Talk. We came out of there more confused than before. 10 minutes max would have covered it. Made me wonder how he charges for 1 h vs 10 minutes.. Also he sent us an echo, he recommended 3 ways to get the appointment: 1 - to fax the hospital and wait 12-18 months. 2- Paying private and go next week. 3 - going to the hospital when he work in 3 months or so.. He knew my husband was extremely worried so obviously we would pay for private.. Which than he recommended the place where he is the one that he will read the results, as he is the one hired by that place toread them... He told us, if no problem I won't call but if there is a problem I call within 1 week. That he had to read the result within 1 week or he gets in trouble. He also gave us a phone appointment months later since my husband like confirmation, to be sure... Months later, he called us, asking What's up... My husband surprised asked to get a confirmation on his results that all is good since he didn't get a call.. and Dr. Deepak said he did not receive them, that he didn't even know what the call was about!
I don't know how he keeps practising medicine. like the previous commenter, the doctor spent an hour with me, telling me about everything in his bag of opinions and nothing about my health personally. He told me that all heart attacks are caused by smoking, burning logs in the fire, second hand smoke and burning incense when praying. he did not consult my list of diseases, which I provided, nor my list of medications, until the last few minutes of our appointment. He told me that autoimmune disease does not exist, that I can take my medication for AFib and tachycardia when I like, and in fact, to experiment with it. When i get episodes of arrhythmias I should take a chill pill. When i asked if he liked working at Santa Cabrini, he said that after 25 years practising, he has concluded that all hospitals were bad. He dissed my current doctors by discrediting their practises, and discredited my past diagnoses from eminent cardiologists. He even told me that growing up in Trois Rivieres, his mother forbade him to drink Kik Cola, and she was right, because his friends all lost their teeth from the stuff. He has renounced the Indian culture because it was filled with voodoo thinking. I can conclude that I will be making a formal complaint on this man. He is not a doctor of cardiology, rather a man who likes to hear his own voice.
Brilliant and compassionate. Very knowledgeable and challenges the status quo.
great cardiologist that is up to date with technology, the world of medicine and knows his patients.
