05/10/13 5 5 5 5 I went to see Dr. Coffey for my psoriasis. He was very knowledgeable about the condition and prescribed me something that actually works! His staff was awesome...so friendly and treated me like a friend instead of just another patient. The doc himself was amazing! He introduced himself as Joe. He told me all about the medication I was using to treat my psoriasis and why it wasn't working. He prescribed me some new ointment and told me that if I needed to, I could come back and see him anytime. Overall I had an excellent experience!  Respond

29/07/13 5 5 5 5 Amazing staff, amazing Doctor. Don't know what we would have done for my son without it. Severe eczema condition and the doctors here in NL were of no help other then causing more damage, but with the help of my family nurse getting in contact with the staff, my son had the treatment he needed and was fully on the mend in a matter of days. Living Labrador I recommend this doctor all the time, most willing to travel down to SJs to have top notch treatment for my child. We haven't had any issues with the office they are beyond accommodating. As for people saying there is a long wait list, its like that everywhere for any health care...at least here you get amazing service and support.  Respond

29/04/13 2 3 2 2 The Dr. is nice enough. There is a long wait for an appointment. The doctor advised that I should be in contact if I had any issues or questions. Too bad it is impossible to get an appointment to see him for months. I was not contacted with test results. I had to call repeatedly to get my results. After getting my results over the phone, I am waiting again for a month for my appointment before I can receive treatment for my condition.  Respond

29/04/13 4 4 5 5 I went to see Dr. Coffey about some strange lumps on my skin. I had to get a biopsy done at my appointment. I was extremely anxious and nervous about it. He was very kind and patient and explained the entire procedure before he started. At one point I felt like I was going to faint (due to nervousness) and he was quick to get a couple of nurses to fetch me juice and a cool wash cloth. When I eventually got my biopsy results back he explained everything, gave me several information pamplets on my condition and answered my many questions. Overall I had a great experience with him :).  Respond

03/04/13 1 1 1 1 Awful staff, awful doctor. All they care about is money. I cancelled my appointment 5 days in advance and I still got charged $25! Total rip-off!

06/02/13 5 4 5 5 I want to say he is very polite, well mannered, very knowledgable, he explained my condition, told me what medicine to take, foods that would help, how long before I would see a change. He told me he would try something different if this did not work. People nothing is guarrenteed and not all medications work for everybody. His staff were great, very pleasent, I would work with them. Overall I had a great experience, and I had to wait 6 months for an appointment, I know what an emergency is and mine was not. We also don't have enough doctors. So thanks. Wish you all could of had my visit.  Respond

31/01/13 5 5 5 5 This cat is my new best friend. He is busy as heck and it shows in his office but let me tell you. He is very smart and direct. I hate docs who dance with you. Doctor joe did a surgery on my chin and it changed my life.

26/11/12 1 1 1 1 Ive walked in with a problem with my toenail he looked at it and said i dropped something heavy on it without even asking me what i did told me it will fix itself and to get new shoes (that would cost me almost 200 bucks a pair) he also said i could come back and get a cream to remove the nail later if i wanted to. I called back a few months later when my toe started to turn purple and red, was told i couldnt get in for a few months to see him (finally got an app to see after telling the person on the phone about my toe changing color) Never saw him during the second app just seen some lady who told me the said thing about me dropping something on my toe, she left saying she would be right back with the perscription never did come back some nice nurse had to hunt it down for me. Worst doctor ever find someone else. He doesnt care about you just sees you as a paycheck.  Respond

15/10/12 3 3 1 2 I have good and bad experiences with this doctor. The first time, he hardly looked at my rash and declare something which I thought was weird and did not make any sense. He prescribed a treatment and gave me a cream. Things got worse. I was sent to a nurse who gave me a sheet with yet another treatment. I was told there was no need to see him again. It turned out months later that I have an allergy to all creams and treatments given by him, which made my skin condition worse. No apology, lots of money spent on my part and still very little answer as to what I am to do with this new allergy. I have been in hell since last winter with severe itching and hives. I've been treated with nonchalence as if this was a minor issue. The second meeting was just a little better only because he was just a little friendlier but still I have lots of unanswered questions. I lost a whole month of work because of this condition.  Respond

27/09/12 1 1 1 1 My experience with Dr. Joe Coffey has been nothing less than stressful...for 5 weeks I did not know what I had...I brought my list of questions that he told me he did not have time for as he pushed himself to the end of the room on his little stool with wheels until he met the door to the other exam room...my body was covered from heel to toe in lesions, I went there feeling like a leper and left there believing I was one...his assistant Tish could also improve on her professionalism in dealing with patients...compassion comes to mind...without patients he has no business...his patients should take presidence over his concern for the amt. of MCP#'S he can collect in one day...  Respond

08/05/12 4 4 1 2 I took my 1 year old to see this doctor, he didnt even make eye contact with her. I brought her in for a long standing rash and his nurse wrote her a script for a cream before the doctor saw her. The doctor didnt even ask to see the rash. He was very rude and ignorant. He did not listen to the problem he just pushed his new cream. His nurse came in after 2-3 minutes and told him to come on and he left. Very disappointed  Respond

14/04/12 1 5 1 1 I was ten minutes late as I was stuck in traffic on topsail road. I tried to call while I was in the traffic jam to see if this was going to be a problem, only to get a pre recorded message saying that the office was closed. When i got there I was told that I would have to reachedule because he is on a "strict schedule". Although there was at least three people in the waiting room. His staff told me, very rudley that this was policy, and no exceptions would be made. This policy is something that should be told up front to patients when the receptionist books the appointment. Also, if the office is open, the phone lines should be as well. I will not be returning, and I will be informing my family doctor who will hopefully refer his patients to someone who better runs their clinic.  Respond

21/07/11 5 5 5 5 I've had two appointments with Dr. Coffey and he's been great. The first time, he took the time to explain what was going on with my condition and provided immediate treatment wtih a follow-up scheduled in 6 mos. The second time, I went back to his clinical nurse for a quick visit. She went and got the doctor and he came in and gave me an overall exam and recommended treatment which the nurse followed up with. He is very personable, friendly and answers all your questions. I look forward to continuing to see him in the future.  Respond

28/06/11 1 5 1 1 Had an appointment to see this doctor and had alot of trouble finding his office. I had thought I was early but was at the wrong location. There are very few street numbers on Topsail Road and I never found the correct entrance to the building first or last. I managed to get access through a locked emergency exit when somebody left. So, I was 20 minutes late and was then told that he refuses to see clients who are late and I would need to rescheudle and pay a $75 late charge! I am disgusted with this doctor.  Respond
