My experience with Dr. Christine Darwin was extremely unpleasant. My first impression of her was that she was most likely suffering from dementia and that she should not be allowed to practice medicine any longer or be around patients. She was disorganized and very difficult to have a coherent conversation with. I do not think she knew what she was talking about with regards to my illness and medications. Darwin was also extremely rude to the point of hostile, defensive, and I felt very uncomfortable being in the room with her.

My first appointment with her left me feeling confused and concerned. She basically spoke AT me not TO me as if I was a child. And upon my second visit, she scolded me for not having done my labs prior to seeing her. First of all, I did not receive any instructions when making my 2nd appointment, nor did I receive any emails from her staff to do labs at all. When I patiently asked for her to inform her staff to relay these vital instructions to patients, she angrily responded, "I do not have time to argue with you about this." Excuse me?! I gave her the benefit of the doubt and stupidly sat there for the rest of my visit only to have her spit numbers at me regarding my levels of hyperthyroidism. As she continued to scold me like a child about the "important labs" I needed, she realized she had not even placed the orders after all! I left her office feeling shocked, upset, and depressed. She lacks the compassion, patience, and kindness that any normal caring person, let alone a doctor, would have. DO NOT SEE HER!

One and a half years with Dr Darwin - 24 years being Hypothyroid, which had been totally mismanaged the previous few years at Kaiser. She is the reason I switched to UCLA & my messed up health is now much improved. I am a retired RN & she respects my professional input & works with me to manage my complicated care. I have learned a great deal from Dr Darwin.

She is the single worst doctor I have ever been to, in any practice. I have been living with type 1 diabetes for fifteen years and she had the audacity to suggest that I had type 2 diabetes based entirely on a complete lack of understanding regarding insulin consumption. When I asked for paper prescriptions, she waffled and it was only with heavy prodding that she conceded. Even then, she refused to give me a prescription for the insulin pen needles I usually use. This woman is a menace and should not be allowed to practice. It is startling that UCLA would allow such a heinously uninformed, condescending "doctor" to practice there. If you are planning on going to Christine Darwin, don't; you will not be treated as you should.

This doctor is rude, and speaks to patients as if they have a learning disability. She is not a doctor I would recommend for my pet.

This woman should not be a doctor. Her mission is neither to help, nor to care. Furthermore, she lacks competance in her field. Have seen many endocrinologists and she is by far the worst.

Doctor spent most of the first appointment talking poorly of the blood lab and bemoaning "how stupid" normal doctors in the medical group. She spent more time speaking ill of other people than she did concentrating on the reason I was there and as such I've not gotten any actual treatment. Of course the blood lab would have the paperwork she fills out if she instructed her office staff to send it downstairs rather than to stick it in a file never to be seen again. Is behind in her field as well. Neither she, nor the UCLA blood lab are aware of the current TSH range as published by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. Slightly disturbing as a patient to find I've read journal articles from 5 years ago that the doctor wasn't even aware of.
