Ratings for Dr. Bruce H. Yaffe
3.3
High points for the practice as a business organization but very low points healthcare. One can get appointment in short notice, but you don't necessarily see a doctor. You can request to see one if you want to wait longer (than the already long waiting time) but the doctors don't seem to care much anyway. I have encountered 2 to 3 wonderful doctors there but the good ones don't seem to stay with the practice for long. Been a patient since the 90's and decided to moved on.
Best and most interesting doctor in the city. people who are complaining about the wait, clearly are not aware of the innovative website which tells you if they are on time or late, in which case you can plan accordingly. Bruce is on the cutting age of his field and is always seeking a better way to provide service to his patients. As for the PAs, I rarely see a PA without a Doctor coming in to check their work. If you can't trust PAs, don't go here. I love the fact that if I absolutley must see someone, they can always fit me in. The benefit of the large practice is tht Bruce has his pulse on the medical health of the city. You cannot please all of the people all of the time, and when in comes to healtcare in the city, some compromises will always be needed. I will not go to another doctor. Bruce is smart, kind and driven to help. The fact that he answers calls and e-mails is a fact of 21st Century medicine.
Dr. Yaffe is the best internist in the country!!!! The BEST, #1, nobody better...anywhere.
I highly recommend Dr. Yaffe and Dr. Ruden. Cannot say enough good things.
I've been using Bruce for 15yrs. Excellent doctor and really know his stuff. Only drawback is I live in CT and don't work in NYC anymore, but I still plan to use him. I agree about the office, it could be more effecient
I agree with all other post. The Dr's are knowledgeable but they are overstaffed and under efficient. Once you are there, they are not worth the wait. They overbook all day... Once I thought I was the "first" appointment of the day, I walked in at 8:00 to a full office and still had to wait a half hour. Also they refuse to help you out in anyway unless you come in, wait forever, and fork over your co-pay... even for something as simple as a signature on a form. Save your the time, money, and frustration and go somewhere else!
Great Doctors - terrible office! Always behind schedule and a bit like a factory however they've saved my life (really) twice by getting me to the right people quickly. It's worth the wait!
The worst office I have ever been to. Dr. Yaffe is a very good doctor but it is very difficult to deal work with his office. There are many other very good doctors with a much nicer staff. He is not worth the trouble.
You can do better. I agree, Dr. Yaffe does have a rather large ego. I think he's a smart man, but he is too concerned about his "celebrity" status than an average patient. And, if you do need to go into the hospital, don't count on him ever coming to see you..because he won't. Of course, unless you're a celebrity! The whole practice is a little bizarre to me.
