Dr. Abend instills confidence and is quick, but through in his assessment.

I have been coming here for a few weeks be use of an auto accident ad I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the most incredible patient care folks. From the front office to physical therapy, they have been awesome.

Very encouraging solutions recommended by attending physician, Dr. Abend.

Appreciated someone actually walking me to show me where the restroom was.

This doctor has a horrible bedside manner and does not respect his patients. He only spoke with me a couple of minutes and then walked out before I could explain my circumstances. He ordered x-rays even after I told him a prior doctor had just done that! He made an unprofessional remark to me that I care not repeat, so I switched ortho specialist. When I called to obtain the x-rays, his x-ray tech hung up on me after I explained that I did not think it was fair to charge me a fee for my x-rays when in fact my insurance had already paid for them. I had also explained to the tech that I would not be returning so I did not understand why they needed to keep my xrays. Additionally, when I was sitting in the waiting room for this particular appointment, another patient was leaving and told me that this particular office and staff were not very nice...I should have walked out when I had the chance!

After a very quick exam, he assumed that surgery was a done deal. When I asked questions he was very condescending, and took a personal call in the middle of my consultation. His office manner gave me little confidence.

My mom does not have insurance and has arthirits problems and needed to see a doctor to understand how severe the problem was. When I called his office, the secretary said charges would be ~ $90 for consulting & $130 for X-ray. When my mom reached the office they said the charges would be 400.00 flat! Then Dr. Abend came, flexed the knee twice, requested Xray be taken. After the X-ray he stuck his head into the room, to say that my Mom had arthiritis and left. We paid $400.00 for something we already knew about. Why ??? This doctor has little consideration for patients and just wants to earn as much money as he can. Avoid him.

but don't expect him to spend more than 2 minutes with you. He has a factory setup....you are just part of the assembly line. I've been seeing him for about 10 years and he doesn't know my name.
