Ratings for Dr. Stephen Maloon

Dr. Maloon fixed my back in 2012. It was a long recovery and he was with me every step of the way. He saved me from a life of pain. He pulled no punches in telling me how brutal my surgery would be so I was somewhat prepared. I will be forever grateful to him.
Really disappointed me. Very blunt. I didn’t like his comments. He was of no help to me..Will never visit him again.
Dr.Maloon, was not very professional during my visit... He laughed at everything I was saying about my back injury... He then told me, I was not injured enough for him to do anything for me... I have been struggling with severe back pain for over a year now, I waited 4 months for this appointment, hoping relief was finally in sight... His bed side manner was truly upsetting, I left the appointment in tears.
Told me to live with my pain and said other surgeons would do treatment but refused to do it until it gets worse...honestly frustrating dealing with him. Ask him to send you to another specialist.
You don't need to be an advocate for yourself when you have Dr. Maloon! He was extremely patient with my Mom, knowledgeable and kind. He ensured we understood the findings, did his own physical exam and walked us through the process. He is top notch and I have a hard time believing anyone would think otherwise.
Dr Maloon had the wrong scan of my neck and back. Those images didn’t even have pie shaped vertebrae like I have. I have seen the cat scans from just after my accident. If I had a back like that I would have nothing to complain about. Seriously it looks like it was probably a scan of my son’s neck/back. I have advised my dr already! She is off till May 10. I really hope that dr Maloon will carefully look at the scan he was using. I am still in shock, you are basically saying all the drs I’ve seen since my accident have lied to me. Please look into this being something went wrong when entering the info to the new system. So yes, this appointment was not helpful and the knowledge you have is incorrect.
My personal case I believe he was spot-on don't allow your feelings to get hurt I think back surgery is the final option when you can barely crawl in the door unfortunately some people don't like to hear that but it's the fact of the matter
Wow, these comments are spot on. Even his 5 star ratings that liked him, are reviewing saying he was so nice and explained it was all in my head. Well that's what he said to me. I exercise and rehab as best I can, and the pain is unbearable and I am on 3 sets of pills to keep going. My doctor, the pain specialist doctor, my physiotherapist and the MRI and Xray radiologists all wrote him reports. He refused to even look at them, saying he can interpret them himself. As a man it is hard to try and swallow your emotions but this was devastating.
Dr Mallon did a knee replacement for me. He is exceptionally skilled and the operation was successful
If you value your life at all, avoid Dr. Maloon at ALL costs.
