Ratings for Dr. Thomas D. Shaw
Dr Shaw is clearly the best in his profession . He takes the time to understand my issues and then proceed with the best solution ideal for me .I have had severe upper back pain next to my shoulder blades for nearly 4 months and Dr Shaw was able to identify the spot with ease. Although the pain severely disrupted my jogging schedule I have of late started jogging smaller distance ,Dr Shaw clearly does not want you to rush into my original schedule and advised me taking small steps at a time. Apart from the therapy sessions Dr Shaw takes the time to talk on other issues pertaining to health .I would recommend Dr Shaw without any hesitation and I was fortunate to have him as my Chiropractor ,I am still continuing my treatment and I hope to regain my original jogging strength in about a months time. unlike other chiropractors who start off with Xrays and then try to scare you Dr Shaw does not follow those methods , he is calm and always reassures you that things would be alright one again. I would clearly recommend him ----Dinesh
I cannot express how much appreciation I have for Dr. Shaw! I've spent the last year and a month in severe pain in my ankle and foot, that at times I couldn't even stand, much less walk! I went to two foot specialists, had x rays, MRI's, and even anti-inflammatory shots, and nothing helped. The doctors told me that my foot was text book healthy, bones were perfectly normal, and that the pain must be from an over-sensitivity and pain intolerance. The x rays clearly show curves where bones shouldn't be curving, and other tell tale signs that something just isn't right, but according to them...I wasn't truly in pain. They put me in a boot and told me to go through desensitizing pain therapy. It didn't help. I happened by Dr. Shaw through another doctor because I am a chronic migraine sufferer, and he just so happened to be covering for the chiropractor I was supposed to see to alleviate the pain. I've been going to him ever since and have made him my permanent chiropractor...major since I have had bad experiences with chiropractors before which left me terrified of them! Not only has my migraines subsided AND even lessened drastically, he also reviewed my foot and ankle x rays and MRI's and, having only adjusted it the very first time, he nearly has eliminated the pain! I have now had my ankle and foot adjusted for the third time now, and HONESTLY....NO PAIN! I can walk. I can stand for periods of time without pain. My migraines have diminished from having 1-2 a week, down to MAYBE once a month! Yeah the first couple of adjustments I pretty much sounded like an over-sized bag of potato chips being squeezed, but it was and IS worth every snap, crackle and pop! My feet and ankles never felt so good and it is so nice being able to go out with friends on whim without having to take pain relievers just to get through the day or night. I feel like a whole new person, and my experience with Dr. Shaw has been nothing but positive, professional, and a new and refreshing outlook on life...and I'm only 32 years old. I still have quite a bit of life ahead of me, and now, with Dr Shaw and his abilities, I'm not sitting out because of my ankles and feet or living migraine to migraine! If you are looking for a chiropractor, regardless if this is your first time or just looking for a new one, Dr. Shaw is your guy!! I highly recommend him, and if you give him a chance, you will to!! Results will always vary from body to body, but I would like to also point out that this will have been only my fourth visit, seeing him every two weeks. I had been seeing another chiropractor for almost a year and had to go every week at times, though mainly every two weeks as well. Many, many thanks to Dr. Shaw for keeping me...straight (pun intended! LOL)!!
Dr. Shaw has made a big difference in my life. I no longer spend my day focusing on pain but the task at hand, filling prescriptions. He takes the time to explain everything he is doing and why it will help. As a medical professional I greatly appreciate that. I would recommend him to anyone in any type of musculoskeletal pain. Just a kind and caring man who wants to help people. Period. Peter A. Crocamo,P.D.
Wonderful, caring service. Dr. Shaw is knowledgeable, articulate, and never rushes through appointments. The receptionist, Joan, is always courteous, friendly, and helpful. As a bonus, patients sit in a massage chair before each appointment!
I had a pain in my knee when I knelt down. Two doctors had two different diagnosis and their treatments did not work. Dr. Shaw examined my knee and concluded that my knee cap had shifted slightly and put it back in place. four hours later I could kneel without pain.
Dr. Shaw introduced me to a dry hydrotheropy bed in his office. After two uses of the bed, my right thigh which has been the bain of my life has developed strength which I have not had in years. Muscle pain which has been severe when trying to walk up stairs has almost totally disappeared. The only thing different for me is the use of the bed. I plan to continue to use the dry hydrotheropy regularly.
Dr. Shaw is an excellent and attentive chiropractor. He not only adjusts my neck and back, he provides hands on physical therapy, and determines the proper muscle strengthening exercises to practice at home. I've been to one other chiropractor for 40 visits, with slight relief. After about 5 visits with Dr. Shaw, I have noticed considerable improvement, and feel much less tension and pressure in my neck and head; I am amazed at the different techniques practiced by the two chiro's. If you want faster results than the assembly line type of chiropractic care and want one-on-one attention during your visit, see Dr. Shaw. This is the attention and results you want, when experiencing pain. Joan, Dr. Shaw's assistant is most pleasant, helpful and courteous. And, if you have to wait, it's in his wonderful massage chair. Thank you, Dr. Shaw. I wish I would have found you sooner. Sincerely, Nancy
