Ratings for Dr. S Houston Payne
4.1
As a surgeon myself, I have seen and operated with many surgeons in Atlanta and across the country. By far, Dr. Payne is the most gifted, meticulous and caring. Recently I suffered a shoulder injury that might have put my career in jeopardy, but thankfully Dr. Payne and Dr. Seiler have done a wonderful job reattaching my muscle. I am grateful to everyone at Georgia Hand, Shoulder & Elbow for making my surgery experience and recovery comfortable. I have made a complete recovery - thank you Dr. Payne for everything!
Dr. Payne has now operated on both my wrists (bones broken from falling --8 years apart). His skill is without parallel in my opinion and both surgeries have resulted in later full use of my hands. His assessment of the problem, what can be expected, and personable confidence/support really put me at ease. I am deeply grateful to have him as my doctor. I recommend him to everyone! LHF
Excellent!!!! He is personable, kind, and knowledgable. His staff is professional. I had surgery with a great outcome. Just excellent!!!!
2 finger joints replaced .... same joints hurts just the same or worse.& finger is shorter.....
Very good bedside manner. Very informative and helpful both pre-op and post-op.
Kind, caring and took the time to explain in detail the problem and my options for treatment.
He is the best doctor/surgeon I have ever known. He has done several surgeries on me and all have been successful. He has a great bedside manner. I love him
Dr. Payne redid a surgery I had in Fayette County, and fixed the problem. He has a great bedside manner, and is willing to listen. My other Dr just told me to do more Physical Therapy. When my PT ran out after my second surgery, Dr. Payne wrote a letter to the insurance company for me. It did not help though...they suggested I sue the first Dr. Anyway, now over a year later...everything is working properly.
I have seen Dr Payne a couple times in the last 8 years and always have to wait. Which I do, because he LISTENS and cares. His staff however, has issues. After waitng 2 hours for my last appt. They let a woman who came in w/o an appt. in to see him...ahead of all the others waiting. It was NOT an emergancy, but she seemed to know the office mgr - by name. And asked to be squeezed in since she just happened to be in the bldg. I asked the receptionist how this can be possible!!! I was told they were only getting x-rays. NOT TRUE. When I was taken to my exam room after getting a little testy...I saw Dr Payne sitting and talking wih this person. Come on! My time is JUST AS VALUABLE. Liar. Let's get this schduleding under control...please. Emergencies I understand, no problem. But after a 2 hour wait, watching someone just waltz right in is mind-blowing.
I recieved excellent care in every way from Dr. Payne. I had 3 surgeries in 4 months on my R arm and my L hand. He was kind and caring through the thick and thin of my surgical experiences. Plus my outcomes have been outstanding. I can't say enough good about Dr. Payne and his staff.
