During office visits, Dr. Ramirez seemed very knowledgeable. He performed a stomach operation on me and I was to be out of the hospital in 3 days. When I woke up from surgery, I was unable to speak above a whisper and had tremendous pain in my throat. He assured me it was just "irritation". As days went by, eight to be exact, I continued to have the throat pain. I could not swallow (even my own saliva) nor talk above a whisper. I also maintained an elevated fever. He changed my IV spot, thinking it was infected. I also started to develop ear pain, due to the swelling in my throat. On the seventh day, he performed a strep test. The next day he sent me home saying I must have strep throat. I proceeded to go to another hospital and found that I had an abscess that had formed over a hole that had been put in my esophagus and my vocal cords had been pushed out of alignment. This lead to two more surgeries and I could not talk for 6 months. He is definitely not a thorough doctor.
