Ratings for Dr. Peter Small
2.5
Dr Small is very dismissive and refuses to listen or take anything you say into consideration. If you want to be treated with respect he's not the doctor for you.
Had an awful experience. He gets points cause he was on time and his nurse was lovely, but he was awful. Asked me to describe the reaction I had after eating something I wanted to be tested for, and he told me I had created a narrative (he used that word) in which I was allergic to something, but I was imagining it. He almost refused to test me. Look, I might not be allergic, and maybe something else triggered the multiple reactions I had, but isn't it his job to make sure? And if I mistook symptoms for allergies, he can educate me without the condescension. Clearly, the referring doctor thought the symptoms were serious enough to write a referral and an EpiPen prescription. The nurse did the test, and I didn't react to anything in the 20 minutes allotted (not even the histamine control, which is strange), and by the time I was out the door of the hospital, I had rashes everywhere. Not going back.
Get a second opinion. Dr. Peter Small is condescending and dismissive. He will not give you a fair treatment or even information for that matter. I got a second opinion and the difference between the two doctors is poles apart. Don’t waste your time with Peter Small.
A clown show is how I would describe his practice. I'm on the edge of reporting this guy to the College des Médecins. The guy basically told me to test for allergens (legumes) myself at home because he did not have the products in hand.He stated that anaphylaxia is very rare with this specific allergen class (a 2 minutes google search proved that to be false) and that I should just test myself at home and eat the said allergens. He seemed arrogant, disinterested and depressed. Very dangerous behaviors when handling people's lives.
Would recommend to ANYONE looking for a good allergist. 10/10 experience. Ignore every bad review below. Dr. Small and his team were amazing during my 8am appointment today. Dr. Small and his team work extremely efficiently, not wasting their patients time, nor their own. All my questions were answered with precision and confidence, which is exactly what you need in a doctor. Everyone complaining below wants red carpet treatment, or their "feelings" seem to have been hurt with the way their questions were answered. Hate to break it to you, these doctors and nurses see thousands of people a week. They NEED to be quick, precise and efficient everyday, or else no one would get anything done. Loved my experience with Dr. Small. Super nice guy, funny and is clearly a master of his craft. Thank you Dr. Small and team!
Very nice doctor and very knowledgeable. Was able to pinpoint my problem right away. I would definitely recommend this doctor and the staff were very nice as well.
I'm not sure there are words to describe how inapt this man is at his job. Utterly condescending, listens only to his own voice, doesn't care about you at all and only wants to get rid of you asap. Gave me blood test to get rid of me, didn't explain what or why and left me alone without saying a word at the front desk. Do whatever you can to avoid this specialist who has the manners of a Cro-Magnons
Arrogant and difficult to communicate with. Not sure what his problem is but best you go in with the intent of getting the information you need at whatever expense and then hope he seeks therapy because he is belittling and sarcastic. Not sure why but that’s his problem.
Ask for a second opinion and don’t trust Dr. Small. I’m not saying he’s not competent, but he doesn’t really listen to you. The good thing about rushing his patients is he’s very punctual!
Reading all the bad reviews below, before my appointment with Dr. Small, I thought to myself "Oh people nowadays are so hard to satisfy; they should just be happy they had an appointment with a specialist." Well! All the bad comments are so true. Worst doctor I ever met. In short, he's past his expiry date and should retire because he doesn't care, has not listening skills and is rude, so nothing good can be expected. Sorry, choose another one.
