Stay away from this man. I do not want to call him a Doctor. He is terrible and very condicending. Terrible manners . All he does is make negative comments about my weight. He tells me, “just don’t eat”. He is so full of himself. Pathetic!

I needed to establish myself at a doctor after moving to Redding. Very first appointment, he (Dr. Jack) told me I'm overweight and need to lose weight; that's OK, doctors are supposed to tell you what's wrong. Plus I already knew that and have been exercising and controlling what I eat. He said that at my age exercise doesn't help and dieting is no fun, so I should take Belviq. He said it's perfectly safe, no side effects. In my mind I'm remembering that sometimes doctors like to encourage prescriptions to make more money. I looked up Belviq reviews and it gets good reviews from users, but Consumer Reports said it has side effects galore and best to skip it. Plus I got an idea of what kind of results to expect from the drug, and it takes about a year to lose 5% of body weight, which in my case would be about 10 pounds. Plus if you get off the drug you can expect to gain back about 25% of that. I've already lost over 10 pounds in two months, so using iffy expensive prescriptions that don't even out-perform normal weight loss seems counterproductive. Plus, even though it's hard, there's something about the natural way that's satisfying. He also wanted me to take a flu shot and I didn't want to take a flu shot and he was arguing with me about it. So other reviews say he's a pill-pusher and I would have to agree with that assessment. I would like a doctor who is more prone to encourage natural ways to stay healthy.

Following two in-office colonoscopies, I was misdiagnosed in each. Ultimately, after having a third colonoscopy in three years, I was diagnosed with cancer. Specifically, a large tumor in a difficult to operate area. As a result, I have spent the last year(+) in chemotherapy, radiation treatments, multiple surgeries. In addition, my family and business has been greatly and adversely affected in many, many ways. I am still receiving treatment for related symptoms 14 months after being diagnosed with colorectal cancer by a specialist.

I still see Jack Finch, M.D., even though I am not fully satisfied with the "care" I am receiving... As mentioned above, he is a straight shooter. But, he seems to be tainted by past patients, as many doctors now are. He is not sincere or compassionate, maybe too much of a "straight shooter." I like old people, so I like interacting with him, but find that in the long run, I am not receiving the care I need. I would suggest that if you are the type of patient that already has an idea of what is best for yourself, to stay away from him, as he doesn't seem to like to hear the patient's point of view and also seems to have pretty pre-conceived notions about his patients upon initial consultation. He also will prescribe pill in a "willy nilly" fashion (to use the parlance of his time...)!

Planly he sucks. Won't give a referral. Keeps adding new meds and when you don't want them because of cost gets mad. When told not to put my mother under he did any how thinking it shouldn't be a problem. When he does order tests he orders all of them. Ignors the patient most of the time. I'm my mother's caregiver but she was in the room and can answer questions on her own, she just can't see well, and he talked to me and not her. Our co-pay says $15 but we got a bill for an extra $20 and no one has explained why. When you need a med refill it takes 3 days, a fax from the pharm. and a call from the patient. Trying to find a new doctor now but they all want you to fill out an application like it's a job interview.

First time at an appointment where the doctor could barely acknowledge the patient and then never gave an opinion of the problem I came there for! Will never return.

Dr. Jack Finch is always helpful, respectful and able to assist in rapid time. He keeps mindful of reducing the financial waste in medicine while always maintaining the highest quality care. Not an easy task that he does well.

I have been with Dr. Finch for quite sometime. I like that he is a straight shooter. I really like him and will continue to visit.

He is pill pusher! He is not thorough at all. He assumes he knows what is wrong with you without running any tests to confirm! Stay away from this Doctor if you value your life!

This doctor is all about lining his pockets with money. Very unprofessional, rude and unknowlegeable. His staff is the worst. They obviously take their lead from him. I have been to many doctors in my life of 57 years and have never experienced anything so unprofessional from the medical profession as my few visits to Jack Finch's office. There are many great doctors in the Redding Ca. area. This is not one of them.
