Quite simply put, on August 16, 2023 Dr. Tchervenkov saved my husband’s life. He and his team performed a delicate emergency surgery to enable my husband to have a second chance in life, and I and our family are appreciative beyond words. He not only performed the surgery, he took the time to time to explain to two very worried people what he was going to do, and how he was going to go about it. We will not soon forget his compassion, not to mention his great sense of humour when my husband asked how long the surgery would take. “It will take as long as it takes for me to put you back together properly - I’ll go slowly & carefully, but I’ll go as fast as I can”. Well he did, and today because of him I am not a widow. Thank you to you Dr. Tchervenkov, to Dr. Vaillancourt and to all the great supporting team at the Glen. You are what humble heros look like.

I hesitated for a long time before posting this review seeing that so many had a different experience wondering if it was my fault if the encounter with dr Tchervenkov was so unpleasant. After much introspection, I concluded that likely many other patients had similar experiences and it was important to share. Perhaps they are all too scared to expose their negative experiences. My visit with dr Tchervenkov was odd in that he told me I didn’t need an operation even though all my cardiologists have been telling me I shouldn’t wait longer and that a surgery could not be avoided. He was rude and did not take much time to answer my questions at all. I felt rushed. I need not appreciate our encounter whatsoever. I do not recommend this surgeon. I am sure I am not the only one who had this type of experience.

Blessed with meeting people like Dr Christo Tchervenkov and Chief resident cardiac surgeon Dr Richard Tang that together with many others looked after my dad’s life so well. Those people that save and lengthen people’s lives, we can never thank them enough for their gestures. I had the privilege and immense pleasure to speak to those doctors a bit more than just about the operation details for dad. I had a chance to get to know them a bit; to understand how did they get to where they are today, how difficult was the ride, what made them choose such profession, what keeps them going etc I felt the fire they cary inside about people well being. I felt their drive and passion for what they do. I felt their courage and resilience they radiate. I found those truly inspiring to say the least.. I have no doubt, their passion, personal investment coupled with power of concentration and focus makes a difference during those critical interventions and is at the root of their exemplary performance Although they are true heroes, I sensed their humbleness, which made me appreciate them even more. They are awesome human beings. So lucky to have had such experience and sharing my thoughts with you that may or may have not met them. If you get to meet any of them, I can attest, you are in outstanding hands!!

Dr. Tchervenkov saved my life. As a few day old baby in 1997, Dr. Tchervenkov and a crew performed a successful arterial switch operation on me which surely was a nightmare period for my parents, being the first born, and for my family. It was flawless and today I lead a happy and normal life all thanks to your work. Vous voyez comme moi que Dr Tchervenkov est numero 1 sur 89 et probablement l un des meilleurs au monde dans son domaine. Moi c est le 10 août 2011 que ma stenose aortique et mon aorte dilatée est passée dans les mains du génie et de son équipe. Aujourdhui encore, je pense à lui presque tous les jours mais surtout lorsque je monte le mont royal à pieds par le chemin omlstead en 55 minutes et encore dans le reseau du montreal sous terrain à 120 battements / minute et chaque fois que je fais un don de charité au centre de santé mc gill...

Dr. Tchervenkov m’a sauvé la vie 2 fois en 1997 il m’a réparé ma valve à aortique réparé un trou dans mon ventricule et ablation d’une obstruction sous ma valve, en 2019 j’avais une régurgitation sévère de ma valve à aortique qui malheureusement n’était plus réparable donc il l’a remplacé par une mécanique considérant mon âge 51 ans c’était la meilleure solution à long terme... Il est plus qu’un chirurgien il prend la vie de ses patients à coeur comme si on serait un membre de la famille, je lui doit énormément et j’en suis très reconnaissante pour tout ce qu’ il a fait pour moi , merci dr. Tchervenkov c’est grâce à vous que je suis encore de ce monde et que je peux continuer de vivre en meilleure santé....! Juin 2019. M.M

Je m'appelle Pamela et j'ai eu une cardiopathie congénitale complexe à la naissance. Dr. Christo Tchervenkov a fait une reconstruction complète de mon coeur en 1991, une des premières chirurgies de ce genre au Canada à cette époque et grace à lui, ce fût une réussite et un miracle. Aujourdhui. je vais super bien et je n'oublirai jamais ce médecin exceptionnel qui m'a permit de vivre une belle vie en santé.
