Dr. Gisslow is a professional and kind doctor. I highly recommend her to those using Student Health Services.

I have been to Dr. Gislow several times for my health issues at Student Health Services. Dr. Gislow has been very kind, empathetic and polite when hearing my problems. She is very prompt and very quick about follow-ups regarding lab appointments. She remembers every detail of my previous appointments. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Gisslow has been really kind, patient, and helpful. I have seen her a few times for my anxiety and asthma. She is very gentle and listens closely. She is quite to-the-point and it took a few minutes for me to see just how understanding and kind she is.

Dr. Gisslow is very understanding and helpful! Even though I don't see her very frequently, she remembers small details from previous appointments. Her appointments are not very long but she gets the job done. She is also very quick to follow up after appointments regarding lab results, and is very helpful there as well.

She briefly looked at my rash and said it's not even a big deal, just virus. Though rash looked really severe and spreading all out, she was being so indifferent. And it turned out to be fungus. I could have prevented fungus from spreading onto other parts of my body if she had paid more attention. Won't go to her ever ever again.

I found Dr Gisslow very professional and caring. She explained my procedure clearly to me before completing it, and made sure I was comfortable throughout.

I started seeing Dr. Gisslow because of a persistent cough. Other doctors have been dismissive of me and told me to wait it out. But Dr. Gisslow took the time to listen to my concerns and referred me to get testing done to get a proper diagnosis and to rule out other causes. I've seen her for other issues as well and she has always been very patient, kind, caring and understanding.

I saw Dr. Gisslow to get a referral to the surgery clinic at VGH for hardware removal. When I called UBC health services a few weeks later to find out why VGH had never gotten in touch with me it turned out that Dr. Gisslow had never sent in the referral letter she told me she would. Incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. I get that she seems many patients every day and is extremely busy, but that doesn't make it excusable to let some patients fall through the cracks.

I went to see her at the student health centre for a persistent popping in my ear that keeps me awake at night. Her suggestions included a sleep aid and white noise (so I could ignore it), and she didn't seem the slightest bit concerned about what was causing it. I left feeling incredibly frustrated and like my time had been wasted, and my ear is still keeping me up nights. Thank you, Dr. Gisslow, for ensuring I'm perpetually exhausted.

I also feel very bad to see the poor ratings. I think some people are misunderstanding her. Ive seen Dr. Gisslow off and on for a few years at Student Health at UBC. I first started to see her as a sports medicine doctor for my very serious back injury, and then continued to see her afterwards whenever I needed a family doctor. I think she is excellent, kind, caring, considerate and very knowledgeable and intelligent. Because of her high level of expertise, her seriousness about the problems her patients are seeing her about, and her being an extremely busy professional at UBC, some of you might be misunderstanding her. I highly recommend her and in fact I have already recommended her to a friend studying at UBC.
