After years of seeking psychiatric help, dr. Cohen diagnosed my condition correctly. He prescribed proper medication and worked with me until the dosage was the most effective. I'm not exaggerating when I say he saved my life and my marriage. I would recommend him to anyone in any situation.

Dr. Elliot Cohen is both brilliant and compassionate. Some people should never be allowed to retire. This is one of them. I've referred many clients to him and all have been very well-served.

I would would highly recommend Dr. Cohen -emphatically and without reservation. If you want a Dr. who is a pushover and will do whatever you want and tell you whatever you want to hear, look elsewhere. But if you're serious about your recovery and want a top-notch Dr. who will get you to where you want and need to be, Dr. Cohen is the perfect choice. His candor and straightforwardness are refreshing and helpful. He impresses me as someone who really knows what he's talking about -and just as importantly, he seems to really care about improving the lives of his patients. Lastly, it's worth noting that I went to Dr. Cohen after moving to Colorado Springs from the Midwest -where I had started my treatment with another Dr. (I had to relocate for work) The former Dr. would have been happy to string out my treatment over multiple years -I suppose keeping me as an income source as long as he could. Dr. Cohen took over my treatment upon my moving to Colorado Springs, and was immediately concerned with mapping out my treatment to where I concluded my treatment plan as quickly as reasonably possible. I was thrilled to find a Dr. who cared about me, and was interested in my treatment outcome -as opposed to just seeing me as just a part of his income stream.

Dr. C has been a great help to our family through some very difficult times. He is competent, thorough, and corrected some nasty medication problems caused by other doctors.

It would be unfair of me to discount the poor comments made about Dr. Cohen. Dr. Cohen is a quirky guy and this is not palatable for everyone. However, if you are willing to work with him, he is willing to put in the effort as well. I was a terrible opiate addict and my luck with other suboxone doctors was awful. Now 5 years later I am still clean and Dr. Cohen has worked very closely with me. Along the way he called me when I was coming off suboxone just to see if I was doing well. I can honestly say I owe a fair amount of my success to his help. His office hours are brutal and again he is a quirky guy. If you go and agree with those bad reviews it probably will not get better, but if you agree with the positive reviews stick with him through the bad times as he is a great guy.

Unfortunately Dr. Cohen never looks at your file before your visit. He expects you to remind him of your issues and then tell him what meds you are currently on. Sad. He cutting his practice down because he can't take care of all of his patients. Needs to retire ASAP. Uncaring.

Often impatient and rude. Couldn't remember details of treatment, diagnosis, case history or even how long he'd been seeing me. Threatened to terminate treatment if a lab test was late or an appointment rescheduled. Not concerned about side effects and often prescribed off-label. After four years, I realized he was not interested in my treatment and probably needed to retire. His main concern seemed to be getting a check and covering his potential liability by suggesting hospitalization when I had issues with his treatment. It was like he couldn't be bothered to do more than write prescriptions. I had to work around his personality. It was hard work for very little relief. He said he liked the current treatment model. That is a major red flag. Treatment used to consist of a lot of time spent on diagnosis and close monitoring of symptoms, medications and side effects. Now, it's 15 or 20 minutes and a prescription. Most concerned, competent docs dislike managed care limitations. Not him.

At our first meeting he struck me as being rude, impatient, easily offended & sanctimonious, he was also 15 minutes late. After 2nd meeting, his assistant was asked to submit his prescription to Medco via fax, not done! Waited 1 week, ran low on meds, called him on a Saturday for help & was treated very rudely. A few days ago I emailed him for help, as meds aren't working well & asked for advice. Got his reply today firing me as a patient, said I called him on a Saturday about non emergency, said I missed an appointment on 29 Aug. His appointment card says Sept 27th! He called today & tried to back-peddle after learning it was his mistake, I fired him. I suspect this man is very tired of dealing with people after 44 years, he needs to retire. What happens when he does this to some deeply disturbed patient, someone suicidal or homicidal? I have seen Psychs all my life & NEVER met anyone this rude, sanctimonious, insensitive.

He is exactly as described. He talks down to you, is rude, interrupts and is generally a very unpleasant person. I would never go to him again. The worst.
