In1996 Dr, Mangiardi missdiagnosed me with a grade 3 malignant tumor-told me to "go find somewhere pretty" (because I wasnt' going to be around much longer). Long story short, he couldnt have been more WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is now 2024, and my tumor/ cancer is in remission. I wouldnt trust Mangiardi with a dead cat!!!!!!

He saved my life 30 year's ago. I was a 19 year old kid when I had a brain aneurysm and he did my surgery at Lenox Hill hospital. My father died from an aneurysm when I was 6 and I was so lucky he did my surgery. My mom didn’t have all of the money and he did the craniotomy surgery anyway. I can’t thank him enough. I now have a wife and a family and I will be 50 years old in a couple of months. When I got out of icu he came to visit me and cheered me up and made me feel confident about my future. I’ve been healthy and able to live a normal life. God Blessed me when I ended up in this doctor’s care.

All the negativity you read here I wouldn’t doubt. I remember needing back surgery in 1997. Dr. John Mangiardi was assigned to me at the ER of Lenox Hill Hospital. I was admitted and sent upstairs immediately on very strong medication, needing my L4 disc removed. The next day Dr Mangiardi came to my room and spoke briefly about my condition he was very knowledgeable and I felt comfortable with him. So I asked if he would do my surgery? I was told very rudely “No! I don’t work for free”. I was a Medicaid recipient at that time. I will never forget his arrogance and insensitivity I felt so belittled and unsafe. I thought to leave the hospital, but I was afraid, alone and the unspeakable pain I experienced was still lingering. I was at the mercy of the hospital and its staff who were very kind. After my encounter with Dr Mangiardi I was given to one of his interns. As though I were a piece of meat to experiment on. I met his intern the day of my surgery, he was kind and also very informed. Still, all I could do was pray everything would work in my favor. Recovery went well with physical therapy learning to walk again. Fast forward 27yrs later and not a pain since the surgery. I THANK GOD he didn’t “Work for Free” on me! I will never forget Dr. Mangiardi he stands out like a bad ordor. Even better I am happy I decided to check and see what he’s up to these days. Looking at the results from some of his patients he’s gotten worse if at all possible. Makes me wonder why he still has a license. For curious about who did my surgery it was: Dr Michael B. Cho check him out. I wish you all the very best of health. Chrisaundra Jackson

Dr. Mangiardi was my life savior; handling a pituitary adenoma coupled with an additional diagnosis concurently of multiples sclerosis. He performed my procedures with excellence and care, his multitasking abilities are excellent and considerate.

Dr Mangiardi has made my life a living nightmare. He did back surgery to correct my L4 and L5 only to leave me with chronic pain forever. Screws that wasn't long enough but yet and still he put them in my back. Do this sound like a sane man. The saddest part about the whole thing is he got away with it. How many other victim are out there suffering at the hand of the quack Dr.

I would not trust Dr. mangiardi, not because of skill but ego. I saw Dr Mangiardi in March 2004. I was suffering from a severe case of CSM and my spinal cord was being cut by my vertebrae. I was losing bladder control as well as feeling in my leg. He told me I should be operated on but in the mean time get a recliner for the pain. Dr mangiardi had no affiliation with a hospital at that time. He had a falling out with Lenox Hill and was a freelance surgeon. He said he'd try to book me in Flushing hospital. The next day I was admitted to the emergency room at NY Hospital with a partial spinal cord injury. I spent 3 week in rehab and am still in PT. I was lucky. Dr Mangiardi did not cause my injury. He let his ego get in the way and called me 4 weeks later to say he had booked an operating room.
