I would highly encourage parents to skip seeing ACENT for ENT issues and just get another referral. Our experience with this office convinced us that they are committed to “cutting and billing” and far less concerned with our child's well-being or even specific condition for that matter. From the very first phone call with confidence and condescension they assured us our son needed surgery. They refused any consultation with a doctor. We were only allowed to interface with receptionists and a nurse practitioner, despite our concerns and additional questions. It became evident that the nurse practitioner was not answering our questions, and further, she undermined her credibility with us because she distorted the things we said. Initially we gave the nurse the benefit of the doubt and thought she just had not listened well enough. But as communication proceeded, it became evident that she was not interested in our child's actual condition but was engaged in case making and fear mongering in order to get us to sign on for surgery. We are not experts in this field but felt so uncomfortable, that at non-trivial personal expense to us, went to another office. That doctor (Dr. Parrish at Geneva Woods) deployed a wait-n-see policy. We went in in another six weeks. My child's problem had completely resolved itself; no surgery necessary. My child has been completely fine for 4 months; I have waited to post this review. I warn my friends away from Acent.
