I was a patient of Dr. Adelson for about 5 years. I was overprescribed a plethora of unnecessary medications. I was told this by a prominent cardiologist. My new cardiologist said that I do not have any cardiac conditions and that I do not need to see a cardiologist unless new troubling symptoms arise. There is a troubling issue of a sensitive nature that has been haunting me for many years after it occurred. I had a stress test at Dr. Adelson's office. Long story short, I had to remove all my clothes above my waist, including bra. I had to put on this tiny vest which was loosely tied and open in front. There was no coverage for modesty. All the wires were connected and I had to go on a treadmill for the test. Running on a treadmill, without a bra or t-shirt, was incredibly embarrassing. Dr. Adelson "checked" the leads every few minutes, touching my chest each time. I feel that this touching was inappropriate. Why did these leads need to be checked so often? Were the connections faulty and in need of replacement? I had a stress test after I switched to another cardiologist. My upper body was never exposed, the leads weren't constantly checked, and there was no inappropriate touching. As I recall, Dr. Adelson may have said to me at that time, "you are a good-looking woman " which was cringe-worthy. I was too embarrassed to report this incident to the Order of Physicians. I wish I could erase this unfortunate episode with Dr. Adelson from my memory. I switched to an exemplary cardiologist a few years ago who told me that I do not need to take any cardiac medications and do not need to see a cardiologist unless there are new troubling issues.

After reading all these reviews, I highly disagree with such negative reviews. This doctor is hands down one of the best doctors I've visited. He takes his time with his patients, notes and records everything, very funny, great personality, very professional and much more. I highly recommend you visit him if you're having any cardiac problems. DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS THEY PROBABLY JUST ANGRY AT LIFE.

First His Secretary Jolaine is FANTASTIC, Dr Adelson is very professional , takes his time, notes everything and records every detail, I have no clue how he can read his own writing ? may be that's why he records !!

He might be a good doctor but the fact that I had to bring a new referral every time I came in for an appointment was a little ridiculous. No wonder our medical system sucks when the Dr's are the ones taking advantage of it. I finally decided to change doctor because if this shady practice.

I've been a patient of his for 20 years. He may seem a little aloof at times but once you get to know him, he has dry sense of humor... He is passionate about politics so be ready for a debate. He is very conscientious and follows his patients closely during exams and stress tests. I had an incident at 41 and now close to 20 years later, incident free... Although time may have caught up with him, he keeps current on advances out there... I trust him

Bon with a particular heart problem, I have been to many cardiologists in my life, he ranks among the lowest. He thinks his comments are funny but they're not, didn't like the 'stress test' he gave then charged me 75 bucks. With so many other highly qualified cardiologists around, why settle for skim milk. The MUHC hospitals are loaded with up to date highly qualified cardiologists, find someone here with a better rep.

After reading the reviews here I must admit I was reluctant to bring my husband to Dr. Adelson. However, DR. ADELSON WAS INTELLIGENT, PATIENT, THOROUGH, AND HAD A SENSE OF HUMOUR! I cannot tell you how amazed I was, and this was after having gone in with a negative preconception based on online reviews! To begin with, his secretary attended us immediately and with respect and kindness. Dr. Adelson then spent over an hour with us! He started with preliminary questions about my husband's medical history and went on to perform a stress test. He was by my husband's side for the entirety of the stress test, checking with my husband throughout on his level of comfort, tiredness, etc. and doing the most thorough medical history check I have ever seen a doctor (or nurse) do. He took constant notes and also cracked jokes throughout to keep the mood light. Dr. Adelson is anglophone and tells jokes with a straight face. On a few occasions when he really got us laughing, he broke into a wide smile. Maybe previous commentors here did not understand his sense of humour?! This is the only explanation I can find for the negative reviews! At the end of the exam, Dr. Adelson found the reason for my husband's pain. He then brought us into his office where he spent 20 minutes discussing a plan of action and scheduling a follow-up appointment with my husband. Although the diagnosis turned out to be clear for my husband's heart, Dr. Adelson referred him for further testing and scheduled a follow-up appointment for my husband. This cardiologist put us at peace that my husband's heart is okay, AND wants to follow-up with him anyway, to make sure his actual non-cardiac condition is treated! P.S. My father is a cardiologist (in California, or yes, we would have gone to him:P) so I am quite critical of doctors who I do not find up to par! I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful Dr. Adelson is.
