Don't waste your valuable time and money!! I was referred to this doctor after an accident....huge mistake! They'll bill your insurance, charge you the copay then after they find out you've settled they'll bill you personally afterwards! Instead of the overpriced insurance amount they billed hell charge you $400 per visit plus $6000 for a report and many thousands for other minor tests. If you call the nasty despicable manager she'll say they're taking you to court for asking for a refund of any sort. The last time I checked it was insurance fraud double charging a helpless patient out of pocket and charging insurance. This guy should lose his license to practice and go to jail!! Did I mention what a dump this place is inside? It's dirty and smells like a veterinarians office the computers never work because they are old technology. Go elsewhere or you'll regret it!!
10:30 appointment and it 11:30 and still have not been seen.
Dr. Macedo is a wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable, caring doctor. (He genuinely tries to get to the bottom of things and he listens) HOWEVER: his office staff is by far the worst I've ever encountered. His scheduler is beyond rude, both to patients and to him. I don't know how she keeps her job. She's also incompetent and refuses to follow his orders for scheduling follow-ups and procedures. Literally (dictionary definition!) the worst front desk staff ever. I'd say Dr. Macedo is worth dealing with this staff, because it's difficult to find a doctor who is this talented. But go in knowing the front desk staff will waste your time, send you to bogus appointments, and mess up anything they possibly can.
Their office discusses medical information and other details with third-parties. Dr. Macedo is dishonest and untrustworthy.
my biggest complaint is his office staff. I have been his patient for almost 2 years and after each visit I had to spend my time explaining to his office staff that my insurance requires to send a referral together with a claim to an insurance company. many visits later I still have to deal with the same problem- lost referrals, refusing to send a referral etc. My insurance company has even called his staff and asked to send a referral... Still nothing changed after the next visit... So I have decided that it would be easier to change the doctor than to deal with his staff.
I am very disappointed. First, his staff asked me to arrive at 1:45 for a 2:15 appointment. I complied--unfortunately. He did not get around to seeing me until 2:45 pm. I was about to leave and ask for my money back when he showed up. Second, I went in to be assessed for ADD. He asked me a few questions and then said I would need to come back to be assessed for ADD. I asked for my momey back, and his office manager said I could go to a doctor and just ask for oxycontin. Huh? I did not ask for drugs. This place is a racket. They will take your money and offer no help.
I'm guessing that the office staff must have changed because I have not had any problems (yet). I am able to get new appointments within a week of scheduling and the staff seem perfectly nice and competent. Dr. Macedo is great. I have been in and out of therapy and doctors offices for 30 years and this is the first time any doctor has been excited about actually "fixing" my problemswith ADD, migraines, anxiety, etc. He doesn't seem to be leaving any stone unturned as far as looking for causes. Most doctors find one cause then stop the diagnostic process, therefore, i only get treated for one thing, even though there are multiple causes.
The staff were rude, unhelpful and refused to transfer my medical file to another physician's office. I will not return to this doctor again.
Dr Macedo is terrific and successfully treated me for Lyme and Rocky Mtn fever. I wouldnt be writing this without his aggressive treatment in killing off all that horrible bacteria!
Dr. Steve Macedo is an amazing doctor. He is patient, caring, and extremely smart. He cured a migraine headache problem that countless other dr's were unable to figure out, and he has guided me on other health issues that has probably saved my life. His office staff was very poorly run a few years ago, but it currently is MUCH improved and I have not had any difficulty making appointments with him. If he doesn't have an answer, he will refer you to another dr. who is sure to help. I wish all dr.'s were as caring and intelligent.
