Ratings for Dr. Ronald Z. Hoffman
Doctor Hoffman has Ben my neurologist for the last 22 years and I'm positive I'll never find another doctor like him ever again. Thank you and. Ester for all the great years Doctor
Office was in total disarray when I went with a relative to an appointment with Dr. Hoffman. Patient records were piled high on top of and under examining tables in every room, DVDs and CD's of MRIs and other scans were haphazardly stacked on top of a shelf on the wall. Dr. Hoffman took a call during my relative's appointment and proceeded to spend at least 10 minutes discussing private patient information in our presence. It was the most unprofessional medical office I have ever witnessed. Numerous HIPAA violations should be leveled against this doctor, and should be enforced to the tune of millions of dollars. I convinced my relative not to return to this doctor. http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/index.html
Dr. Hoffman has been my neurologist since 1994 when he diagnosed my brain tumor. Then and now, he has stayed current in his specialty as well as being knowledgeable on so many other related areas of medicine. He continues to be patient, kind, and thorough. He returns calls, initiate calls as needed, and follows up on tests and referrals that he orders. His referrals seemed to be only to top notch physicians, probably because he is constantly monitoring the experience of his patients referred out. He is a strong patient advocate as needed. He also is unafraid to take steps to remediate unjust medical/hospital policies that are unfair to other physicians and to patients at large. He will explain your medical condition and treatment options without being condescending. When you leave his office, you will have a solid understanding of your illness as well as what the treatments will entail. I feel fortunate our paths crossed. He is a 100% doctor 100% of the time.
Dr. Hoffman is very nice, but his office is stuck in the 20th century. I've been very frustrated trying to get records and a referral to Stanford and have spent hours trying to get it all straightened out. Medical care shouldn't be this complicated or frustrating.
Dr. Hoffman is a superb Neurologist. He has an excellent beside manner. He did many tests, he is so thorough. He studied UCSF one of the top medical schools in the world. He spent an hour doing a thorough exam, the little extra wait is worth it! The receptionist/admin Ester was so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend.
If you ever want a doctor that actually cares about his patients, including difficult ones, you must see meet Dr. Ronald Hoffman. He is beyond the best of the best, knows all aspects of medicine even though he is a Neurologist. He totally "gets it" and listens to everything you say, then records it so he has it for life. Most professional, most of all, hilarious. He will laugh along with you as well, even in the darkest of times. I have had the pleasure of over 20 years with him and he would be over the years, the most affiable guy one could ever come into contact with. He KNOWS medicine to the Nth degree and his life has been dedicated to helping people. Always returns calls, listens with interest and gives the patient his best advice. He will know every part of your body and gives the best referrals. In my whole life, never have I met a dr with great character as well. Honest and overall, the most caring man, I have ever met in my life. All is not lost on him, for sure. Superb! CALL!
I loved Dr. Hoffman. He was kind, courteous, and had a wonderful bedside manner. He also was very knowledgeable and helped to diagnose my complicated condition correctly and provided appropriate medication to the best of his ability.
Excellent doctor! Credit him with being part of my father's recovery from a massive stroke in 2005! Also my doctor for migraine headaches, he did a series of tests and imaging to ensure there were no underlying conditions to make sure I had no complications later on since me and my husband are trying to conceive.
