Overdose in ICU did not expect that as had a complete list of allergies in chart hummmm did you check the chart or read beyond the cover? Was a horrific experience after 12 hour cancer surgery but I know nurses & doctors are only human so I have forgiven them . Otherwise a pretty good stay treated good.

We sat from 11pm to 2am with our baby who had a 102+ temperature before a doctor saw her. Then we sat on a chair in a tiny room with the baby until 3am before anyone came to see if she was alive or dead. No one even came to read her BP. At 3am, a student nurse walked by and was flabbergasted that no one had even taken her BP. She took it and called a doctor. Unfortunately, the doctor did not respond for another hour at least. I know the hospital is busy but. come on, you would attend to your sick dog faster. I know you all are tired but to stand at the desk and chit-chat while patients go unattended is ridiculous, don't you think? And this university hospital is supposed to be amongst the best?? Wish we had driven another 10 km and gone to Royal Alex.

I was admitted to U of A twice in 2010, once for a week and again for two months from Aug-Oct. I found the nurses, doctors and support staff to be very kind, compassionate and efficient. When people missed their shifts the nurses handled the double duty with patience and grace. My treatment as a patient was excellent all the staff seem to work together for the patients benefit. It is a training hospital and so when specialists were brought in you would usually have a small team of doctors and interns working on your case - very thorough care.
