This hospital has a greatly inflated vision of itself that does not match the talent. I went there for a heart problem exactly one year ago, was transferred from one doctor to another during that time, was supposed to have an MRI as ordered by the doctor but was never placed on a list and finally had to go get it privately to get it in time for the next appointment. The clinic never responded to my calls when I called to ask about symptoms I was having to certain drugs prescribed for me; it was impossible to reach it by phone and as a last resort had to call the ombudsman who was the only positive light in this story because the office did respond to me in a timely manner but still got no answer from the Clinic. After one year, there was no plan in place for surgery even though the pills were clearly not working. I doubt to this day that anything useful would be done to alleviate my symptoms in a timely way or any way at all. Finally went to the Montreal Heart Institute which immediately had me down for a remedial procedure within one month of visit.

The new hospital at Glen site is good but the staff the same , I had an appointment for lithotripsy I came early to put my name the responsible there dismissed me in a very rude manner as if I am a beggar asking for mercy , I waited till she accepted to see me then at the lithotripsy instead of breaking my stone they couldn't target it exactly they just wrote : possible fragmentation and the stone is still there no improvement in breaking it,, then the doctor in charge didn't bother to see what happened just relied on the technician views .. Nobody helped me to move from the lithotripsy bed although I have back problems ,I had to move alone with 3 nurses looking at me , the staff very rude they don't care as well as the doctors there who have no empathy whatsoever to what is called a human being ,, even my doctor dismissed me as no need to come back and continue my treatment ,, I think in Mars we could find more compassionate aliens to humans!

Worst hospital ever itsnot haunted by ghosts it's haunted by suffering, during my husband staying in the hospital many Mal practice, and super bugs and c difficile, he was begging us to remove the NJ tube from his mouth, he took it off more than 20 times each time begging for mercy, doctors forces him and put it back by force, knowing that we want to respect his wishes, during his 8 month's of mistakes after mis, agony, in the ICU, he succumbed to his death, leaving us with non stop memories of his suffering, please don't go there,

Three hours' waiting at the Emergency Department without any doctor came to see us. We were desperate and more importantly, they charge us for more than a hundred dollars' registration fee. We left without any treatment and they put all the blame on us, the poor patient.

Very bad hospital. Very image-oriented, selfish, and unprofessional staff. I witnessed the secretary screaming at a sick patient and accuses her of being rude when the patient was just trying to make her case in the most civil way. The staff seems extra defensive and they do not seem to care about patients. Many of the nurses look like chickens with their heads chopped off, just walking around with their Starbucks coffee and Cafe Vienna oatmeal cookies. When you see this happening and than there is a major delay to see a doctor with whom you scheduled an appointment 2 months in advance, you naturally begin to question: What is going on? These nurses do not look like they are working very hard! The doctors are just as bad. When you get to see one, or should I say IF you get to see one, they have knowledge of the disease yes, but they take forever to decide on your prognosis. They are not quick enough. So the administration is rude and mean, the nurses do not know their eyes from their elbows, and the doctors act like major divas, taking their time, not really caring or respecting the time of appointments. One time, I waited 5 hours to see a DR with whom I scheduled an appointment 3 months in advance. I eventually had to leave because I had other things to do that day. I was expecting a date for a surgery but I guess it is too much to expect from this hospital. So I left without telling anyone. I just left! I do not want to do my surgery here if they are this laid back and negligent. I cannot believe this hospital is considered the best hospital in Montreal! I am embarrassed when tourists come and have to use our medical services! I feel so bad for them and for Montrealers who have to deal with these incompetent medical people. I hope no one goes through I went through. I would not wish it on my worst enemy.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE at the LITHOTRIPSY Department of ROYAL VICTORIA HOSPITAL, Montreal! My Hospital Card number is 1171390. I was scheduled for "Shock Wave Lithotripsy" of my Kidney Stone, Yesterday, 10th of July 2014.Before starting the Procedure, the Technician said: "it is difficult to see your stone": THERE I WAS IN PANIC : HOW WILL SHE ACCURATELY BREAK MY STONE if she can not see it ? While my Kidney was receiving 3000 Shock Waves, I could see the Contol Room behind the glass partition: there were only the Technician and the Anesthesist, The Tehnician often disappearing or "coffee CHATTING" with other employee friends. At the end, the "Operation Report" result: "POSSIBLE FRAGMENTATION":IT IS OBVIOUS THAT they could't target my stone accurately and THEREFORE WERE UNSUCCESSFUL IN BREAKING IT! THEY DIDN'T CARE TO LOCATE AND TARGET MY STONE ACCURATELY ! NOW, I STILL HAVE THE SAME PAIN I HAD WHEN I CAME for the procedure! Ken Barbaros

Overworked... Under-staffed.....Many secretaries are more than overly rude and think that they are amusing. Many work in closet-sized offices. The technology is so antique... the phone consoles date from the 70's. Too many dossiers, too much paper not enough done on computer. A few walls could be knocked down. Not enough done webwise thus little time for information. Misplaced faxes and other personal information.
