Do not take family members to this ER. By far, the worst er. I don't mind waiting, it's understandable that doctors or nurses are busy. The issue seems to be that the on call emerge doctors just simply don't cate. They send you home so they can do less work, rather than being thorough. My dad was having a heart attack there , right in front of the doctor and the doctor stated that he didn't think it had to do with his heart!! When we told him my father has a heart condition, and had a previous heart attack!!!

The hospital itself is not terrible as a building. The upgrades have made it nice. HOWEVER, dont let that fool you. This hospital is a complete joke. There is no communication between doctors, nurses and patients. In 3 days I saw FOUR different doctors that all gave different answers about my current status. This hospital is in serious trouble and don't understand how it is still in operation. Serious changes need to be made.
I cant speak for every section of the hospital or every employee but most are in the I dont care mindset.
I am a type 1 diabetic and my blood sugar was not checked for more than 8 hours.... Even after I had asked the nurse multiple times.
STAY CLEAR OF THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL COSTS. If it takes you an extra 20 minutes to go to M.S hospital then go.

went to hand clinic to be treated for my broken finger. Left with 1 extra insured phalange after splint removing. I was trying to bring therapist's attention to this issue during the treatment(having second phalange insured while fixing another one). Was told its ok ,for now have 2 injured phalanges instead of one. Very unprofessional, please avoid

This is the worst hospital ever. The emergency staff are awful insensitive but nothing beats the way they treat geriatric patients. As a family member, you feel infinitely worse leaving a loved one in their care. I've seen elderly patients being changed without the curtains. The drs have no bedside manner and treat questions with contempt. The name of the Dr I dealt with is Eric Chu.

The emergency staff including the nurses, were insensitive, uncaring, belligerent ... lots of negative words here. It's a factory and the staff assembly line workers--in skill and in attitude. Your first experience is a corralling gate supervised by security guards who failed their cop entrance requirements--paramilitary-like. The emergency washrooms were grotesquely dirty enough to be their own source of disease. Worst of all, after waiting many hours, including vomiting 3 times, they take an x-ray and send me home saying I have a virus. 12 hours later I'm in another hospital undergoing an emergency appendectomy. This is not my first very bad experience with them. Once might be explained ... twice is a disease in need of a cure. Stay away from this hospital and don't send them any donaions.

I was told to be there for 7:45 and then I got a call from the hospital to be there for 8:00 and when I went for my ultra sound appointment the receptionist was rude and said I was late, she didn't care about the phone call and she said I'm suppose to be early, wow unbelievable.

The worst hospital to go to . In general please people avoid this hospital at any price . Even if something is to go wrong no one will help you but they will just try to cover up and push you away . They don't care about the patients well being . Patient relations is worthless I don't know why they even have it there . Terrible . I'm shocked to see the reality of how they treat the patients in mackenzie health . This hospital with its entire employes is terrible terrible .

brought my daughter here via ambulance when she suffered a concussion. Was seen immediately by medical staff. Was given appropriate care and medical intervention. Medical and nursing staff were very attentive and caring. Social worker on unit arranged for a volunteer to take care of our other child whilst our daughter was undergoing investigative procedures. We were given appropriate follow up care by the assistance of the Paediatric care we received.

It's good to have this chance to say what happened. A few weeks ago, I had serious surgery. Dr. Batay was there to help the surgeon. Dr. Batay introduced himself. He answered all my questions and my family's. Dr. Batay translated for my grandmother who doesn't speak English. He could tell that I was very very nervous. He spoke softly to calm me down. He held my hand while they put me to sleep. He was there when I woke up. His soothing words were very helpful. He reassured me and my family. He returned later in the day to see how I was doing. It is not enough to know your stuff; a doctor should also be a caring human being. All doctors should be like Dr. Batay.
