The maternity ward at Rochester General hospital is terrible. It is filthy, the nurses have horrible communication with each other and some if the nurses were very rude and condescending. Delivering my child was a joyful time, but my stay at the hospital was ruined by the staff. I was in tears because of them. The room was filthy. The vents were covered in dust, my feet were black from the dirt on the floors. The nurse caring for my baby immediately following her birth gave her formula without asking. I did not want her to be fed formula. The room was not fully stocked with diapers. I called to the nurses desk and asked for diapers and after a few minutes when no one came I walked out to the nurses station to let them know my baby was without diapers. The bed for my husband was terrible. Nurse Traci was beyond rude. Very arrogant. The lactation consultant Karen and nurse Ann from the special care nursery were wonderful! If I have another child I will not deliver at this hospital.
