Excellent care. Everyone worked uncountable hours to save my husband life. He is home now from rehab. The called "5 START" SMH almost kill him . My husband spend near two weeks at the intensive care unit. I saw everything. Patients given bad rate due they were not give "Pain medication -narcotics" . I saw a complete family yelling and screaming due the doctors did not want the guy to leave the room and go downstairs to smoke . Really? . The employees since first you cross the door they are attentive and you are NOT IGNORED. I just want to acknowledge in particular one female physician in the Critical Care Unit, Dr. Laura Barber. She is just remarkable! Her care, compassion, devotion and commitment to his patients it is incredible. She extremely knowledgeable and really goes above and beyond for her patients. The ICU staff was excellent. WITHOUT A DOUBT I will choose this hospital over and over. I think you have a winner hospital here and it is so sad how the locals do not see it. The knowledge and dedication of your physicians, the technology and a commitment to make it right deserve HUGE RECOGNITION! - Thank you Venice Hospital for bring my husband back to life and to provide my family with all your support.
Was having a TIA and was told to have a seat an I would be helped as soon as they finished what they were doing. But sign in first .Soooo. We went to Doctors and they had my clothes off , and IV in before my Husband had the car parked. Off 75 Doctors is so close. J. Corliss We left and went to Doctors.
The worst, most reckless and careless care I have ever received. Serious medication errors are the norm. I have never seen a dirty medical facility nor staff that could care less. Towels and wash clothes are no longer available because " they breed disease " and showers were not an option... 6 days without be able to wash up. Billing is faster than checkout. No amount of PR investment can change staff attitudes nor commitment. The new PR effort was noticeable in newly painted rooms, new curtains, and cute little placards on the beds resemble a greeting by Motel 6... The little paper wrappers across the toilets seats were quite laughable. 3 FIlled urinals sat for hours several inches from my food... Asked to have them removed and got my head bit off... 3 Filled dirty diapers on the bathroom floor, bath sink covered w/ old fecal matter. Would have rated zero stars if I had the option. These conditions were experienced in 2015 & 2016 not the 1800s. Can not believe they didn't sell it when the offer was made... Based on recent trip to Doctors Hospital for a week... I had no one complaint.... 5 star plus !!!!!! DOesnt take that long to get there... ER wait is minutes compared to hours. ARound town VH is often referred to the " hospital of last resort ".
I could not in a clear conscience recommend Venice Regional. Although there are a few exceptional staff members, overall I found them to be arrogant and uncaring. Their inefficient, bureaucratic, computerized tracking system is geared toward BILLING and is a huge detriment in actual patient care. Each shift change brings new staff who know NOTHING about the patient. The support staff is ill-trained, ill-mannered, and are clueless when it comes to working will elderly and frail dementia patients. You have to watch the staff and question everything they do. Their repeated errors are frightening.
