I arrived with my child , who was bleeding , at the emergency room . There was no check in , only one receptionist who was "admitting" she was with another patient and I asked if there was anyone else that could help my bleeding child she said - I'm only one person you'll have to give me a minute- and then asking for insurance and my information instead of my daughters , even after I repeatedly said she won't stop bleeding. The nurses did rush out because they heard me and took her in , and told the "receptionist" to finish while we were already inside , then the info wasn't in the system when they tried to pull her name and the "receptionist" came back with -that's what happens when I'm rushed-. I didn't kill the lady because I don't look good in orange, but someone needs to slap some sense into her , it's an emergency room , you need fast people who can handle multitasking, not someone who asks my date of birth while she has my id in her hand, while I have a bleeding child in mine.

This hospital is under management of HMA of Naples, the subject of an article in the NYT January 24, 2014. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/24/business/hospital-chain-said-to-scheme-to-inflate-bills.html?_r=0 Normally, I wouldn't have thought much about this because when I've been to the ER before, it wasn't as bad as it was the evening I was sent there by my PCP for what I thought was another attack of Diverticulitis. After waiting TWO hours in the waiting room, I was brought into their apparently renovated 'rooms' that each have a bed, etc. Five hours, two x-rays later, cold, tired, hungry, and now in pain from just waiting around, I was advised for admittance. I refused. After reading the NYT article, I think I now know why. Total bill for this fiasco: $12,000. Five hours, two x-rays. TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS! Also, ER doctor of Russian origin kept saying to nurses that in two weeks she would be eligible for full time. Extremely forward/rude/bombastic! Overheard others unhappy, too!

I have been told for three days that I would be going home, only to have that feeling of potential happiness and freedom dashed ROI the dumpster. You are watched over by generally three doctors or more. It only take one of them to say no, I want the patient too stay here, and all hopes of going I home are thrown out the window.if you have tho choose a hospital, pick any other one than this. Go the extra distance to either cape coral or fort Myers.

Very dirty hospital and nurses were rude. Nurses made many mistakes and when corrected before it became a problem they were annoyed and tried to cover-up their mistakes.
