Stay as far away as possible they do NOT care. They will speed discharge you no matter what shape your in. The staff do not even check to see if you eat or drink. I did not even have a food tray delivered during my 3 days. Doubt they noticed because they do NOT CARE Bring your own water, they won't bother making sure you have it.

I wasn't expecting the opportunity to rate this hospital since I was looking for a rating for a doctor but since I'm here I may as well participate. In March, 2011 I had a brief stay at St. Mary's hospital to resolve a serious blood infection, I'm Type 2 Diabetic. My late wife was also at the hospital since January-February of 2011. She was in ICU, she had taken a fall and had stopped eating.....no one in the nursing staff would take the time to feed her not even the nurses aides. Her condition worsened, she was released from the hospital to a senior care facility on March 17, 2011 to Meriden, CT. In less than 1 day she passed on March 18, 2011. I was still a patient at that time under the care of Doctor Christopher Hamill who was still trying to locate the source of my infection.....which he couldn't do. I learned a lot about St. Mary's hospital, one ongoing problem was the lack of hot tap water on the floor I was on! They had to draw warm water from the tap and microwave it to raise the temperature for bathing bed ridden patients!. I exited that hospital asap and went to Middlesex Hospital in Middletown, CT. I received excellent care at Middlesex Hospital. All that couldn't be achieved at St. Mary's hospital was achieved at Middlesex Hospital. I will never be a patient in St. Mary's hospital again. I found them to be slipshod and boarder line professional.
