I had excellent pain management for a ruptured appendix but I had to sort of demand it. Once they knew I had a high threshold for pain they gladly increased my meds. I really felt they didn't want a patient in pain. While I had an M.D./surgeon perform my surgery, please know going in that this hospital, at least last year, was employed primarily with Osteopaths...if that matters to you. The nurse who got me right out of surgery was impatient, commanded me to "pee" and cathaderized me when I couldnt. To this day I still have leakage problems. Sorry to be so candid. Overall, however, if you get an M.D. and make your needs clear, this hospital is good...esp when you have a ruptured appendix ;)
