Ratings for Lakeshore Hospital
This hospital is to be avoided. The competence of the physicians (with the odd exception) is spurious to say the least, and what is worse is that nobody there seems to care. The bottom of the heap in a region which deserves better. They have taken the "care" away from the term "patient care". They don't even want to care.
July 2017 - Went into emergency - shocked at how dirty, chairs all torn up and crazy waiting time 6 hours to finally see a doctor, who did a diagnose and then sent in the nurse to follow up and were given conflicting diagnoses. Utterly not organized at all, and then a week later for follow up, given another diagnosis so fast that we came home and didn't know what to do as all info not clear. All the money given to Lakeshore to make it a better hospital as gone nowhere. Am looking into a private physician to get a second diagnosis. What a way to treat people in pain in emergency.
I was in Lakeshore for a couple of weeks in 2016 while they stabilized my pulmonary functions so that i could undergo open heart surgery at MUHC. Full marks to all the nursing staff, including the "trainees" from John Abbott, for empathy, helpfulness and cheerfulness even in the face of irresponsible cut-backs made by our execrable Minister of Health, Gaetan Barrette. Keep up the great work, team, and thanks for probably saving my life! Despite Barrette, you have a great sense of community even if many of you are really over-stretched.
