We live just down the street from the hospital and have used the urgent care/emergency department many times - most frequently last Sunday afternoon, for a chainsaw accident. Triage was busy and did not communicate effectively with us at all - a first, in our experience. However, we only waited about an hour from when we entered the building, to when we received treatment. Registration was efficient and not overly officious. Nursing staff/techs seemed overworked and angry, impatient and unwilling to talk to either patients or the doctor; I actually had to leave the treatment room to hunt the nurse down for the doctor three different times while he was stitching up my partner. The doctor was fantastic. He communicated with us, was approachable and compassionate, and did an incredible job with the stitching. I've always found this hospital and urgent care department to be the fastest one in the NHS, and although the premises may look untidy at times when they're busy, it always looks very clean, as in sanitary. This little hospital does some mighty work and I'm grateful it's still open, albeit with limited services.
Used to be one of the best hospitals. Now they're doing an amazing job with little resources trying to keep the ship afloat with cutbacks from liberal government. Overall dedicated staff. Parking used to be free now taken over by liberal government so gouged with ticket for $25.00 even though we bought pass but it was expired for half hour. Expired as we waited for dr. and was not allowed to walk around.
