Fabulous. Staff are engaged with patients, and the facility is patient friendly.

Emerg and staff are horrible. Once admitted - totally different. Very lovely experience considering the circumstances. When there's a team of Drs or Drs and students.... They huddle together as if you and your kid aren't there and discuss the medical issues about your child. Very rude and disrespectful. Many many times this has occurred to our family. That's the only issue on a floor non ER. As for ER - everything is wrong!

have been going there for years, they neglected my child's condition. my child now has a permanent disability, and it was avoidable. the specialists do not cooperate well together, some let ego get in the way of care, teaching and research papers appear to take priority.

The day surgery unit : receptionist was nowhere to be found when we first arrived but we were still admitted on time for sons surgery. Dental surgeon was great. She was caring, understanding, and kept us well informed. Nurses present for the aftercare were more concerned with watching videos on their comp and were annoyed when my sons iv drip started beeping ( they ignored it until we said something ) son had blood on his face so we asked for a damp cloth. Nurse returned and tossed dry cloth on table then walked away. Asked where bathroom was as he woke up and needed to go. Nurse said just a minute and waited until the video was done before she came to help me move the if pole. Upon leaving the unit the nurses were again crowded around a computer laughing and watching videos. My son said bye and only 1 of the 3 responded. The other two nurses gave us dirty looks like we had interrupted something important.

I would say the wait times in emerg at this hospital are pretty amazing compared to the other hospitals in Ottawa. The nurses, health care workers and doctors are all pretty amazing and just make the kids feel special.. I don't think you should ever go to a non-children's hospital for your child, the care is just not the same.

We first brought our daughter to CHEO when we were told our daughter might have a very serious condition. From the first day we were treated with nothing but respect and professionalism. We received treatment within weeks where as if we were in another hospital it could have taken months. The staff is fantastic, even doctors will stop in the hall to dirrect you if you're unsure where your going. We've been nothing but really impressed with CHEO.

We had to take our 11 year old daughter to Cheo due to a Urgent matter, upon arrival we had nothing but excellent service they took her in right away. 2 days prior we had her to another hospital in the city who were completely RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL(civic) towards her and also myself. Anyway when we arrived at cheo they were very patient with her as she was in so much pain as a mother it is scary. They found the root of the problem and we had to admit her to the floor she spent a week and a half in cheo. The nurses and doctors were amazing. on the floor. In the ER we did have 1 rude nurse. The staff on 4w were amazing with the children. Very kind and passionate about their work. Thank you to all who looked after my baby, you will forever be in our hearts and prayers.

it really depends where youre at in there care system... the waiting room can be terrible 9 hours without even seeing a doctor once!!!!! i mean vomit was being left on the floors for hours.even at there best if youre not dying the ER isnt all that great. But its a diffrent story if they actually have a bed and you get admitted they are very nice on the upper floors just try to ecape the ER as fast as possible
