Very disappointed with the care from the ER MD. We took our daughter here with the flu in feb 2017 because the walk in closed at 10 am.. We were at blue mountain for the weekend. The ER doctor who treated her was impatient and rude. Covering his ears because we were recounting too many symtptoms for his liking. Those being the fact our daughter had a fever of 104 and trouble breathing. I wish I had reported his unprofessional manner at the time. A total jackass with drak hair. Wish I remembered his name to warn others off. Clearly they are not employing the most skilled MDs here. I would suggest going to Barrie or a larger centre if possible for better care. Appalling.
Fabulas staff and facilities. I had Slip and fall 2weeks ago wait time was to be expected. I got great care from my nurse and ER Dr. I needed to be sedated for treatment of badly fractured wrist. I was kept in trauma room for 5 hrs. But they took great care of me. Ty CGMH

I was booked for an Heart Eco Gram at the request from my doctor for Thursday, Nov.24th. The day before the appointment, I was called and the appointment was rescheduled because of some equipment not being set up. It was rescheduled for Monday, Dec.4th for 7:00 am. When the Hospital person called to reschedule I immediately asked if I could drink coffee because of the caffeine and was told that she didn 't know as she was a volunteer. Being cautious I didn't drink coffee for 3 days prier as I didn't want to mess up the cardiac results. Needless to say I had a tremendous headache for 3 days. On the Monday, Dec.4th, my husband and I got up at 5:30 am and left Wasaga Beach for the hospital at 6:15 so that we would be on time for the appointment. We were waiting in Admissions when a nurse came out sand told me that they didn't do Eco grams on Mondays and when I mentioned that this appt. was rescheduled from Nov. 24th she told me that they don't do tests on that day either. Needless to say I was quite upset and she said that I should talk to Booking. When I arrived home I immediately called the Hospital booking dept and left a message for the superintendent to return my call. She called the next afternoon and when I told her the situation, it was as if OH Well! it was a volunteer. I believe that the volunteers should be advised what the patient is to look forward to and in my case especially if coffee could be drank. I also called my doctors office when I returned home from the hospital, telling them the situation and they were able to book me in with Dr. Goode at Collingwood Cardiology the following day @ 9:00 am. results turned out fine but it could have been fatal if it had been serious.
After suffering for 8 hrs the staff had helped me relieve some pain I was in with out narcotics. Thank u so much staff I are so relieved for the help! And thank u for real advice! Was laughed at by the doctor once because in had a torn hip muscle. Also was just there and the staff is extremely rude and inpatient with ther patients. Laughing at people and treating them like Un dignified people is wrong for ur profession! I went there with bad bloating and body twitching from pain. Staff was so rude made me wait longer then everyone problat because ther are age discriminent and power tripping people who think they have one up on sick people. Wow. What a world we live in where ur neighbours treat u like a outsider. Thanks for wasting a good 8 hrs of my life to laugh at me and send me on my way while I remain in 10 out of 10 pain still happening now! Been happening for 4 days now but they laugh at that kind of thing!
Went here when I had food poisoning while pregnant and the hospital staff were extremely attentive and service was fast. Right after I was assessed in triage, they had a nurse immediately take me in a wheelchair to the Maternity Ward and had me assessed by nurses who administer a urine sample and a check up on me and my baby. They had me on an IV for my dehydration within half an hour and gave me Tylenol and something else for my diarrhea. I was given 2 bags of IV; one with saline, the other with saline and Gravol for my nausea. The nurses and doctor were extremely kind and personable and I felt very taken care of here. Great work!
My son spilled boiling grease on his hand at work and went directly to Collingwood Hospital for treatment. Whoever looked at it asked him what he thought should be done about it, then put some lotion on it and sent him home with bandages and more lotion. They did not wrap it themselves. When he got home his hand and arm had what looked like black soot on them and his hand was terribly blistered. Knowing that infection could be serious, I took him to Owen Sound Hospital where they cleaned it up, applied antibiotic ointment, and wrapped it to prevent infection. Between them and our family doctor a burn clinic was arranged for him to attend every two days to have it checked and redressed. That was almost 3 weeks ago and he still has to have it checked every two days. Collingwood just sent him home - don't ever go there, I have heard other horror stories about them, it is worth the trip to Owen Sound.

Dr. Fransis Lakin's Latest Rating
Sadly missed, gone too soon. Dr. Lakin was one of the finest GP's to grace our town. Probably delivered half of the population.
