Wouldn’t wish this place upon anyone. Half the nurses are great and the other half; No empathy, zero understanding, as well as a disgusting attitude with no care in the world. You won’t be looked after properly and it will be your fault because well.. Mental illness. I was running off 3 hours of sleep in the space of over 3 days. I struggle greatly waking up and will do so half asleep most of the time and extremely out of it. I got abused by a nurse and woke up to being told that I was refusing my medication (even though I had asked for it that morning so I could get some sleep, yet was REFUSED.) I went out to make sense of it all and express how I am, but was so taken back by her attitude, lack of understanding and common sense that I couldn’t get anything in. Was told that I wasn’t communicating with staff, which is hard when you only have a handful of nurses that genuinely take the time to sit and understand that being here was not easy for me, as well as opening up and who generally understood mental health. Or is it because you assign 6-8 patients to 1 nurse each shift? They have the audacity to express that patients are not making any effort, yet are constantly stuffing up medication, not communicating with each other, and sending patients into panic attacks and worse off than they were before they came in. Managed to greatly distress 4 patients in the space of 1 hour. This clinic is lacking a great deal of understanding around mental health. Give patients the time to settle and understand that we wouldn’t be here if we were well or if we didn’t want the support, rather than assuming and giving an unhelpful lecture addressing situations you have absolutely zero understanding of. WE ARE TRYING OUR BEST. The unit 2 manger needs to find another job, as well as a few other nurses. The good ones, I wish all the best and sincerely thank from the bottom of my heart. The front counter staff really are saints. Read the reviews that clearly speak volume and don’t risk a place that will only decline your mental health further. Can’t forget the psychiatrist, who decides to diagnose you with something that you DO NOT have and have already been assessed for over and over, just to be safe and sure. They don’t even have the decency to look at you, only to get rid of you as fast as they can after making you feel pressured to leave. I hope that the money is worth the damage you’re causing to the patients who just want to get better, and who put all their trust in you to be treated accordingly. No follow up or plan will happen either. Absolutely disgusting.

So grateful this hospital exists. A loved one has had two admissions If only rural facilities could match it

My partners experience helped her heal due to the shocking food she received there. Wanting to get out at least gave her something to look forward to. Thanks for imbuing her with a sugar addiction.

This hospital is dangerous as staff abuse your confidentiality and give out wrong medication. It’s smelly of old socks and I suffered food poisoning. Bad stomach ache. You look after yourself. I was wrongfully diagnosis with health problems I didn’t have. They made me feel like I needed a kidney transplant even though I’m healthy and will live to 105. Doctors and nurses are disrespectful and make disgusting comments. They make u feel like a little person. Nurses sit in nurses station talking about their weekends. Medications not given correctly. Had to fight for pain killers even though I face pain every day. They rang the police when it wasn’t necessary wasting their time. Hopefully the health inspector will close it down soon as I saw a rat climb out of my bathroom. Dirty and filthy and filled with germs. When u ring the call bell they took 80minutes to respond. Some nurses English was poor. Groups weren’t run on time and therapists couldn’t control topics. Some therapists didn’t have the knowledge. Melbourne Clinic is only a social place where u received no help whatsoever even if u are sick. Nurses laughs at patients. This place is not a hospital but a Melbourne Clinic prison. it’s very dreary and ugly and no pictures. U are not allowed. cords so they won’t let u use your mobile or iPod and music devices. The tv in room breaks down easily and the volume is low. I’ve had things stolen in my room as u can’t lock the cupboard. Staff doesn’t care about issues about it. Lifts break down. I will never set foot in that place as I know I wouldn’t survive poor treatment and probably come out severely injured or probably dead

Expect to be mislead on fees. Bullied into paying fees you never agreed to pay. And as for seeing your own psychiatrist. Once a week if you are lucky. Even when a voluntary patient the place is like a prison. Zero opportunity for exercise. Piss poor ‘activities’, the only thing approaching therapy. And while each private room is adequate. No privacy at all. The food while repetitive is palatable. I was so desperate for someone to talk to I hung out in the smokers courtyard.

Worst private hospital ever! Nurses were rude and negligent, my belongings kept in their possession were lost/stolen.

This place is terrible. Incompetent staff who don't care at all about the patients. Staff are lazy and have no idea how they poorly affect people and wreck their lives. Do not go there, keep away
