Question: I had been seeing a

Question: I had been seeing a Dr.and his partner for about five years. Uncomfortable from the beginning but stayed due to lack of Dr s.taking my insurance. I was just discharged suddenly. Nasty surprise considering I'm in really poor health. I don't even have refills on b.p.meds,prednisone(for copd)etc! Is this acceptable practice? I've made appointment with a new Dr.but have to wait a month. Sincerely High and Dry

Do you have any idea WHY you were discharged suddenly? Did you not show up for your appointments? Did you threaten the doctor or staff? Did you show up drunk for you appointments? Do you have any idea why?

It violates the HIPPA...some are screening because they do not want to take federal,m state, county, etc., insurance--and loads more just to get an appointment!!!We are letting them get away with muder!!!!!!!!
I truly believe that some of the recent practices of these doctors violate our patient rights!I am on pain medication and cannot have surgery and my pain management/psychiatrist wanted to charge me an extra $50 even though I could not benefit from his pain management group...found out he was running for Congress...hmmm! One doctor refused to fill my medications when I got out of the hospital. His staff handed me a nasty letter that lied to get rid of me...for two weeks I went without heart medication, opiates and other necessary medications. The primary doctors have almost complete control over your health and half of them do not know what the H... they are doing. When several doctors tell me I know more than they do and give me complete autonomy, it tells you two things...I am capable and they are either dumb or lazy...what a nightmare! If I could write prescriptions and test myself, I wouldn't need them! What the...I believe that these issues violate patient rights on different levels...the problem is that people don't know how to report it...arfen't aware of their rights! You report activities of this nature to the insurance company...the federal and state government for discrimination and to the AMA (American Medical Association)...some of these agencies (AMA) do not do their job...instead of protecting patients they protect the BS doctors! These doctors are in a ring and hire the best lawyers they can find for malpractice...if you had access to this information...you would be scared to death! If we all bomb the doctors and organizations, they will have to do something! My sister works for doctors and knows all the "inside" information. I am trying to find a top-notch lawyer that is objective and that fights for patients and isn't secretly tied to the medical professionals...is there anyone out there?
Wow. You sound like a drug addict that is pissed off that you couldn't get your drugs and that some doctor didn't want to put you on disability or some such nonsense. I'd love to see you on Judge Judy with this doctor. She'd tear you a new one. Why the heck would you think opiates are a necessary medication? Just because you need your fix? Ohhh, but your sister knows all the secrets. Well then it all must be true. I don't blame a doctor one bit for getting rid of you. They have enough problems dealing with wimpy people in pain like me to have to deal with your demanding attitude. I wonder why no lawyer will take you case? Well, I know the "secrets" of lawyers offices since I work for one and people like you are more trouble than you're worth. We don't have ties to any doctors. But when I look at records and see a person who is demanding everything from a hot tub to a handicap sticker to 120 codeine pills a month, I know this isn't a case we want or need. Im glad they don't rate lawyers because I am sure you'd go on and rip my office apart just because you seem like a bitter nasty person. (and google HIPPA, you are obviously clueless to what the law protects you from. It isn't doctors gaining background information but sharing your information wihtout your permission)
Doctors have every right to ask how they are getting paid, which is why you were asked questions about whether you were on compensation or had been in an accident and so forth. Doctors have the absolute responsibility to learn what your medications are, so that they can treat you effectively. Patients like you give those of us in pain management for real reasons a bad name! For the record, I don't go into any doctor's office demanding opiates or any medication for that matter. I tell them what I am on and why and who prescribed it. I tell them medications that have worked and have not worked in the past. I do take a small dose of an opiate once a day before bedtime, from my pain management doctor, but that is not all the treatment he offers. I have had several ablations and some other treatments. Also, I communicate with him. When I have had surgery with other doctors, I contact him, so that he and the surgeon can work out a plan for my pain management that does not significantly increase the amount of pain meds I take. My goal is to be off any additional meds as soon as possible. If a new doctor mentions that I could take another opiate, I refuse and explain that I am in pain management. I don't know more than the doctors, but I do know that I am ultimately the one responsible for my health and well-being.

You sound like you are having problems with pain meds and you may indeed be addicted. If nothing else, you probably an overly demanding patient who is unpleasant to be around and difficult to treat because you "know more."

Mom's Brat, although I agree with you that some people unnecessarily demand a handicap sticker, I don't equate it with demanding excessive use of pills or a hot tub. Asking for a sticker is sometimes a necessity. My friends all think I should get one, but I'm too embarrassed to ask my doctor, because of people that equate the sticker with hubris or laziness.

I have had an MD for several

I have had an MD for several years. Unfortunately, the 3 MD's sold their clinic and relocated to another state. They did bring two doctors in for 3 months at a time to give their patients time to find other Dr. I was suggested to try CW Clinic. I was given a prescribing RN.They took my blood and 4 days later my appendix ruptured. I don't blame them, except that the RN was on vacation and no one looked at my test results. While in the hospital after surgery the MD owning the clinic was the only person with hospital rights. I saw him during my 5 day stay, and on a follow up. I saw the surgeon the same day to remove the staples, drainage tube, and staples from the other side where they found complications from previous cancer surgery. Unfortunately, after seeing the MD so many times in a short period, the RN refused to fill the 2 scripts I have taken for several years. She told me she did not think I would make an appointment with her if she did not cut me off. I think at least 6 times in the first month is considered several appointments.
I had spoken with her about my previous MD, which she ran down as everything but an MD. My MD, WAS A SHE, which she continued to call a he. I finally explained who I was talking about. We talked about another specialist which she libeled and also degraded. she never once examined me, listened to my heart or lungs, just ran every professional with twice her education and bed side manner down. I took a friend with me on one of the two times she spoke to me, thinking maybe she would chill. She was even more abusive in regard to their talents going so far as to call them "drug pushers".I separated from the Clinic, they sent me my medical records along with someone else who I did not know.I called to tell them I had private medical records for a stranger that sort of morphed together on the last few pages. I only saw RN once to meet, twice after that leaving in tears, and end up with a garbled bunch of med. records they advise me to destroy. I know it is hard to find a good Dr. in the area, but I had one for 5 years. This is just abuse. You cannot sue, malpractice insurance makes that impossible for the average person. If another "professional" can libel another Specialist what chance does a regular person have?

What do these recent posts

What do these recent posts have to do with the Wall of Shame? Are these doctors requiring patients to sign gag contracts? If not these comments would be better posted under their own threads in the Medical forum or as responses to doctor ratings.
