Exercises for Mobility

MY grandfather is getting up there in age. He suffered a stroke several years ago and has fought mobility issues for years. Hes recently degenerated to being able to only walk with a walker, but now hes starting to ask for the wheel chair more and more.

We're worried that if he starts to give up on walking he will never walk again.

Are there an simple exercises he can do while lying down on at the table that can help him keep his mobility and strength?

He can start with the basics. A simple exercise 'Sit to Stand' -

Start by sitting in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. After sitting for a few seconds, use your legs to stand up. Finish by sitting back in the chair. Doing this 10 times can really increase strength in your lower extremities, which helps to improve balance.

Just taking a walk around the block can also help.

Make sure he gets a healthy diet and avoid food items that are high in sugar.
